1.0 su 5 stelle Good Story, Bad Execution 24 novembre 2013
Di M. Lawrence Houseal - Pubblicato su Amazon.com
Formato: Formato Kindle Acquisto verificato
This book has a potentially interesting plot framework, set in a geographic location that many readers may not find familiar. The list of characters is good, and their actions are -- for the most part -- believable. There is some instruction for "preppers" here, and some passable description of weaponry. That's the good news.

The bad news is, the book screams for a competent proofreader and editor. Lacking both, it is actually almost painful to read, and not because of plot developments. Put simply, it was apparently published without the proper "due diligence" being applied to syntax and spelling errors, stilted dialogue, punctuation, and plot inconsistencies. Because of this, I have to invoke an axiom: "Many of those who can write don't, and too many of those who can't do."

I removed this book from my device after suffering through more than half of it. Be your own judge.

2.0 su 5 stelle A very weird ending 3 ottobre 2013
Di Nmantime - Pubblicato su Amazon.com

Interesting concepts. Just not interwoven into a storyline that keeps you interested. This was just so jump here, jump there and a very, very weird ending. I would love to see what a more experienced author could have done with this. This was a put some words to paper and let's make money quick. If you like this genre don't fall for this one. Many many better books of this type out there.
4.0 su 5 stelle Great story of one man's idea of the apocalypse.... 19 agosto 2016
Di Allan T. Cordera - Pubblicato su Amazon.com

I enjoyed this story very much, its fiction, its written by a retired police officer who had to deal with all sorts of personal interactions during his tour. He's not an English teacher for sure, but he's a self-published author, which in my mind is awesome. The plot and twist was excellent, I even enjoyed the ending. The author started to develop his characters for the reader to relate to, but the story is relatively short and a one book story. I was able to connect to the main character and understood his emotions and banter between him and the other characters. The story moved right along and yes there were some times I had to read over some parts to figure out who said what, but I'm not as snooty as some of these other reviewers on grammar, spelling and other crap. I feel book could have been longer and provided more details in some areas, but other then that I really enjoyed the story. Who can't enjoy an apocalyptic tale!!
5.0 su 5 stelle Excellent, well written 13 febbraio 2014

With the government going the way it is I perceive that this could be a very true description of what could happen. Conn has already ordered everyone to register their AK and AR rifles. Most of the populus has thumbed their finger at this or as well they should. Who said, "To conquer a nation, first disarm it's citizen." any guesses...Adolf Hitler. Registering the weapons in Germany was the first step after World War One to disarming the citizens and then when the order to bring those weapons in, people were actually afraid to walk down the street to hand them over because the police had orders to shoot on sight anyone carrying a rifle. This book smacks of that type of takeover...and so do some of the other things going on regarding our Second Amendment Rights now. This book may have been a nightmare but it came true at the very end. I'm waiting impatiently for Gregorio's next book.
3.0 su 5 stelle Gaaaarrrrgh! THE SPELLING!!!!! 10 novembre 2013
Di Victor Marbury - Pubblicato su Amazon.com
Formato: Formato Kindle Acquisto verificato
As a former resident of the granite state (raised in Salem, born in Portsmouth) I was excited to see that a book was written about how hardy New Hampshireites dealt with a situation such as this. But the spelling and misuse of turns of phrase (dour straits, in particular) really drove me to distraction!!!! I think that the author could have done so much more with this story instead of abruptly ending it in a nuclear? explosion. I do enjoy books of this type and have read several within this particular sub-type (UN troops, Nasty President, Communists in my soup!) so if you are able to ignore the bad editing job I think it can be enjoyed....To the author....don't let my review bring you down....all you need is a bit of editing and I would line up to read another one of your stories.
