3.0 su 5 stelle Needs a Proofreader and Better Formatting 22 novembre 2015

Good story line but if you're writing a novel about Americans then stick to American English. Some words misspelled so it's unknown the word that should have been used. The Kindle formatting is horrendous.
4.0 su 5 stelle Lockdown: The First Ryan Lock Novel is a solid action read 13 novembre 2013
Di M Estes - Pubblicato su Amazon.com

Sean Black did more training for this novel than most active duty soldiers go through. The points that I like in a good action novel were met. Lots of action which Lockdown gave me. The Initial Phase of the novel explained the base of the story and the protagonist's background, introduced us to the antagonist without letting on how bad he really was, introduced most of the supporting characters and setup the initial action plot for the story. There were several game changers in the story to add to the suspense. While the last major plot change may have been a bit on the outside, it still fit with the overall theme of the novel and worked for me.

The action scenes were plentiful and kept me engrossed in them. While maybe the dialogue was not perfect, I did not find anything that pulled me out of the story such as misspellings and glaringly incorrect grammar. The romantic interest could have been rounded out with a bit more background but was adequate. If not for the romantic interest, the hero could not have had as much help finding and eliminating the bad guy(s). The introduction of a more dangerous antagonist than the original one is not new but was done in a plausible manner.

For a first shot at an action novel, Sean Black did a credible job. It is much more difficult to be a good author than a critic. Whether a story is successful is measured in sales and fan following. It appears to me that "Lockdown" is doing well.

3.0 su 5 stelle Predictable but not a bad read. 14 giugno 2016
Di Amazon Customer - Pubblicato su Amazon.com

Seems like a character we have seen in many other novels of this sort; but personal protection is somewhat different instead of special forces/elite military type. The biotech portion could have been handled more believably and it felt like some of the plot elements were not fully developed. Bad guys were kind of stereotypical as in corporate tycoons with greed/power motivations and security types basically bullies with no conscience.

That being written, it was not a bad story or hard to read, but could have been better.

3.0 su 5 stelle A good first novel. 22 agosto 2016
Di John R Yates - Pubblicato su Amazon.com

I was intrigued enough to complete the story and it had a good ending. I found some of the dialogue to be a little smart-aleky during stressful scenes that lent an air of an unserious grasp of their situation. But otherwise a good concept and plot.

3.0 su 5 stelle A decent story, characters could have used more development but engaging enough. 29 novembre 2015
Di Melvin K. Patterson - Pubblicato su Amazon.com

I thought most of the characters were rather one dimensional and not well developed. Even the protagonist wasn't very well developed. The story itself was fairly engaging and not really complicated so I could remember enough of it between readings. A bit on the predictable side but still satisfying enough to read it through.
