No, really. This is such a fantastic keyboard.
I've been using Apple's Bluetooth keyboard for years and hated replacing the batteries every month or so. My solution was to buy Mobee's wireless charging solution with battery pack. While that does work, I found myself recharging my keyboard weekly which wasn't really ideal. Plus the thought of having this big metal bar sitting on my desk kind of defeated the whole "wireless" aspect of Apple's Bluetooth keyboard. In enters this. I've only had it for a few days now and I found myself typing faster and liking the overall design of it compared to Apple's. While they both are very similar, Logitech offers rounded buttons which have a nice 'gummy' touch to them while Apple's is very rough.
One of the better features is obviously the backlighting which can go on when the keyboard senses your hand (it's creepy). You can also turn it off completely if you have no interest in it...but I find myself typing late at night and the Black keys with backlight are ideal over Apple's white.
Edit: After almost two years my 'I' button suddenly decides to fall off all the time. I can't seem to figure out how to snap it into place properly after multiple attempts. Time to contact Logitech.
Still a lovely keyboard, but 8 months is not long enough.
I bought the Logitech K811 more for the keyboard feel than its "Easy-Switch" features. The K811 is close in feel and size/key shape to my later 2013 MacBook Pro. I type reasonably well on it, without any stress on my hands. Newer Apple devices now offer keyboards with little or no key travel and a very flat contour. I type very poorly on them and find myself pounding the keyboard to get the feedback I expect.
I think the K811 is a reasonable choice, a mid-ground between the newer "typing on a sheet of glass" feel and a more old-school mechanical keyboard. Highly recommended.
In comparison to the Apple Wireless keyboard I believe that the Logitech has just as much if not more functionality. With multiple device connectivity support, auto-adjusting illumination, and overall look and feel in most occasions the Logitech is much more superior.
If you are looking for a multi device enabled keyboard to replace your Apple Wireless keyboard, this is a great option to consider.
This is now a newer version - the logitech logo is now the newer version and the batter reporting is different. It reports battery level to iOS devices, but my Mac can't seem to properly see the battery even with the Logitech preference manager. The native Bluetooth interface shows a battery icon but it's always empty. (This means that I should use the new one with my iPad but I wanted to keep the new one like-new by keeping it on my desk!)
I'm hoping they provide a firmware update to the older keyboard. Other than the battery issue, I find no difference between this and the older revision. The keys are super comfortable and responsive and the backlighting is so, so nice! (Note, if you are low on batt, turn off the backlighting - it will increase your batt life by 10x or so!)
