The New York Times Bestselling Romance

People come into our lives. Some stay, and many go. Some build us up, while most tear us down. They become our friends, our enemies, our lovers, our tormentors. Christian Davison came into mine, and I knew I’d never be the same.

To Elizabeth Ayers, New York City had always been a dream. She’s worked her entire young life to make it here.

Groomed to one day take over his father’s law firm, attending Columbia University was Christian Davison’s only option.

Neither wanted anything more until they sat across from each other at a café table after being paired as study partners. Christian wants her, but Elizabeth knows better than to give into their intense attraction. Yet there is little she can do to stay away.

Lost to You and Take This Regret can be read as Stand-Alone Novels. Recommended reading order: Lost to You, Take This Regret, If Forever Comes

Lettura consigliata.

4.0 su 5 stelle A Beautiful Story! 18 maggio 2017

I had just finished reading a fantastic couple of books that left me on a book buzz high. This was the perfect short sweet novella that let me continue to ride the wave for a little while longer.

Lost to You is a beautiful story about two equally beautiful people. Christian and Elizabeth are both at college, studying the same course but that is where the similarities end. Christian comes from a family of privilege. A thirst for success and society’s good opinion drove his family. Cold and indifferent to Christian’s feelings, they doled out their tough love in the most insensitive way.

Elizabeth and her family were the complete opposite. They were hard honest working people who did whatever was needed to support each other. Love was the precious element that held their family together. Her inner beauty and friendship found Christian craving her closeness in a way he had never felt before.
Love is infectious and impossible to ignore and often confused with lust. Elizabeth values their friendship over everything else. Desperately missing her family and feeling the lonely void of not having them close, having Christian’s companionship is too good to risk losing.

For a story based around first year college students, there was an overall air of maturity despite the naive moves both stumbled through. Each time getting back on their feet and learning from the error of their ways. Confronted with several challenges, they found themselves drawn closer to each other to the point they couldn’t resist their love for each other.

Lost To You has been a book I have been meaning to read for a while. A story packed with emotion, friendship and lighthearted moments. It’s the prequel to Take This Regret which I read a few years ago and I have an inkling I am going to read it again soon.
3.0 su 5 stelle Not bad, but not that good either but I'm still interested to read the next book 10 febbraio 2017

I am in the process of cleaning all the books in my TBR or atleast half their number this year. I'm not quite sure when I added this book to my list but what I'm sure of is that its been there for a very long time, hah!

When I started this story, I have to say that I like it. I really like that it started from the main male lead's POV, which is quite uncommon to other stories. The way it was written is so light to read too, I mean, I love the tone of this story. It's my first time reading from the author so I don't have any of her stories to compare to, but I have to say that I'm quite impressed.

There's nothing really special in this story but I like it. The conflict is so relatable too and is possible to happen in real life. I love friends turns lovers stories, this one has it, but I don't feel the excitement I usually feel whenever I read that kind of stories for this book. Well, maybe because I never treated or saw them as friends. It's been obvious from the start how attracted both of them to each other, that's why it was quite a surprise to me that they even reached months before they finally did something for their attractions lol.

I think its a very light read because I didn't feel angry or frustrated while reading this story. There's no drama (except family drama), no annoying conflicts, no third party, nothing at all to make your blood boil.

I can't say that it has a HEA because obviously it's in series, but the ending isn't that bad at all.
4.0 su 5 stelle Heart-warming tale about reckless and relentless love 17 novembre 2016

Christian Davison is the kind of guy Elizabeth's Ayers should stay away from : playboy, arrogant, rich, bad boy. But for reasons she couldn't decipher, she was magnetically drawn to him through their study sessions and Friday night bondings.

Christian wasn't used to not getting what he wants. So when Elizabeth gave him the brush-off during their first meeting, he was determined to get into her good graces and make her change her mind about him.

Until they both got lost to each other's charms.

I didn't know what to expect from this book when I got it for my Kindle. As I read and savored the pages, the characters warmed up to me, the story became realistic and my meanderings burst into emotions. This is what reckless love is all about. This is what relentless love results to. This is how rebellious love may end up.

I liked the flow of this story, the writing was good, and the build up was strong and enticing. The preview to Take This Regret book was included here, and suddenly I'm dying to know so much more about Christian's and Elizabeth's impending doom. Gotta read this really soon!

I jumped into this book blind... I needed to try A.L. Jackson and thought I'd snap this freebie up and get the audio. Now if I'd looked into it properly I would've realised Christian and Elizabeth's story continued into the next book, in fact there are three books in this story. So you have been warned!

Christian and Elizabeth met as they both signed up for study partners for their American Government class. Christian was attracted to Elizabeth immediately, but he's a player and Elizabeth knows that he's a ladies man. They strike up a strong friendship and spend a lot of time together, studying and hanging out. The line becomes blurred between them and they both needed to work through their feelings to figure our what they wanted.

I liked both of these characters; Christian was pretty open and told Elizabeth about his family life and was relaxed around her. Elizabeth was comfortable around Christian, but take her out of that comfort zone she withdrew into herself. She's close with her family, but doesn't seem like she has many friends.

I felt that this story was very character driven. Not a lot happened throughout the story, there were a few big moments, but that was it. There was a lot of inner dialogue and I was told a lot of the story instead of experiencing it. I enjoyed the narration by Andi Arndt, she had a beautiful voice and alternated between characters perfectly. For my first A.L. Jackson, I did enjoy it, but I'm frustrated that it ended so abruptly. Now I need to get the next book to see what happens for them next!

This book didn't grab me the way I was hoping it would. It can be read as a standalone, but the author leaves it on a note that makes you want to know what happens next. Both characters had their problems. Christian struggles to love but realises Elizabeth is the one. He lets her go only to try and get her back. He hasn't worked on himself at all when he lets her go. Elizabeth is in love with Christian but doesn't know how to get him to open up. She is just along for the ride he has built for her. Overall, we get a good ending yet it feels like there is some unfinished business between the 2 characters.
