Sinossi

The dream that was the Mars colony has become a nightmare for the children born there.

Asher roams the vast canyons of Mars in search of dying souls ready for digital reincarnation. But his strange profession has its perils. Rogue robots and grieving humans who fear human cloning have hunted Asher and his friends for years, claiming the lives countless innocents, including his daughter. Stalked relentlessly across the harsh Martian deserts by both men and machines, Asher must lead his fellow cloners and the persecuted clones to end the first war on Mars.

With the help of the beautiful Claudia Cruz, famed hostess of the most popular children's programs and racing shows on two planets, Asher takes on guerrilla soldiers, angry mobs, and even the AI clones he's trying to protect, who have gone insane in their new artificial bodies.

Heirs of Mars follows the lives of six men and women (not all of them human) from the dusty wind farms of the Valles Marineris to the shining city of New Troy, and from the ancient tunnels beneath the Noctis Labyrinth to the sandy highways where daredevils race on single-wheeled motorcycles for a fleeting glimpse of fame and freedom.

5.0 su 5 stelle Very Good Sci-Fi 13 aprile 2016

I'm giving this a full 5 Stars. I've always loved Sci-Fi and this is a very good one. The story is unique for me even though there have been many S-F stories about Mars. It was well written with some deep insights into the human condition, and with believable and likable main characters -- even the "non-human" ones. In fact, two of my favorites were an ex-Cartie and a clone. Unfortunately, it does not make me want to live on Mars, even without the risk of Cartie attacks. Still, the author made it believable and I think I 'could' live in that environment if I had no choice.

I only saw a couple of typos and extra words so it had a pretty good writer and editor. If you like Sci-Fi you really should try this. I do recommend it!

3.0 su 5 stelle Good read - look forward to a sequel. 28 ottobre 2014

This book started off nicely. It had a real good cast of characters - some human, some AIs, and some clones. They are all struggling to survive on the inhospitable planet Mars. A real problem was the handful of AIs who refused to sign the Jericho Accord which granted equal rights to synthetic life. These rogues have been killing Martians for the past twenty years including the young daughter of our hero Asher.

However, by the end of the book many of its main characters were killed. I would definitely like to read a sequel.

5.0 su 5 stelle This is the second book I've read by Jordan Lockhart and I liked it quite a bit 7 gennaio 2015

Very enjoyable and coherent, though there were a couple of loose ends I didn't grasp at the end (sometimes that's my fault, not the writers'). This is the second book I've read by Jordan Lockhart and I liked it quite a bit. The book is full of action all the way through, from start to finish, and does a good job of introducing and outlining characters as well as stitching the plot together. Also, some care was taken to edit and pay some attention to punctuation.

Good read, but a bit hard to keep track of the characters at first. Keep notes about characters to make reading easier.

Really enjoyed this book by Joseph Robert Lewis. Androids, clones, and humans living together on the same planet. Very interesting ideas on what it means to be an android or a clone. I especially liked the chapters that were given from the perspective of the machines.
