This is Harold Robbins first novel published originally in 1948. The book It is the story of an orphan Frank Kane and traces his life from his birth to his death. Born in 1912 and raised in NEW YORK CITY through the GREAT DEPESSION and his stuggle to find his place in the world. His frendships and his loves and his connection to the MOB AND HIS DEALINGS WITH THEM ,that started when he was just a kid. NOT THE BEST HAROLD ROBBINS NOVEL THAT I HAVE READ BUT HIS FIRST AND YOU CAN SEE HOW HE BECAME THE WORLDS BET SELLING AUTHOR and how his writing style evolves through his later work. A GOOD READ AND RECOMMENDED.

You will be enchanted from page one until the end. I just regret I d
id not discover this author until later in my life. It was hard to put this book down and I read it in two days. The characters were excellent and completely entertaining. You did not like them all but you could identify with them. I'm looking forward to reading another book by this author. Maxmontgomery
