I use these for 'markers' now when camping - like for your backpack or tent when you must venture away in the dark of night. The White and Green make good tent area lights in the middle of the night - not so powerful to blind you with light... you can velcro them to a tent hanging loop (or make one with glow-in-the-dark duct tape), or put one on a beaded neck chain or lanyard to keep at hand.
The manufacturer's instructions on battery replacement are too abbreviated. This light holds together so tightly that it takes more effort than what one would typically expect to get it separated. Use a rigid glazier type of putty knife to push against and pry the non logo side of the plastic away from the metal ring until they are separated. Don't use a regular knife because it might be sharp enough to damage the plastic. Remove the entire one piece light assembly from the plastic. Use something small such as a kitchen match stick to gently push the two 2016 coin batteries out of the side of the assembly without prying. Stack two new 2016 batteries with both + sides up and slide them in the side of the assembly with the + side toward the logo side of the assembly. Put the assembly in the plastic part with the light in the indentation of the plastic part that has that indentation. Work that plastic part back into the metal ring. Work the other plastic part over the ridge of the plastic part that you just put through the ring until the parts are back together evenly all the way around.
Very well made and batteries are easy to change and they have a good run time.
This orange light uses a lobster claw closure that snaps around the metal hook on a collar. It stays on. I've never had one fall off before. To turn on, simply press down hard on the plastic casing to activate the light, press on it again to turn it off. I use these several times a week in the early evening when walking my dogs in the foothills.
The one complaint is that opening the housing is not easy! This is because the casings are weather resistant, but one needs a small, flat tool to pry the housing open to replace the batteries.
