Abby and her parents looked everywhere for Pepper, but they simply could not find him. Her dad tried to prepare Abby for the awful truth that Pepper might never return, but Abby wouldn't accept that.
Read this delightful little story about the love many people have for their pets and just what it takes to mend the brokenness of a dog being lost.
Will Abby get her friend back or will she have to learn the hard way that sometimes relationships are not forever?
I wish to recommend this swell dog story for five stars and for about any. one who loves dogs and read about them, too!
I received this one for free and in return for being able to red it and share this with others of like mind, here is thinnest review.
Super job Brian! By Angela
If this plot sounds similar to several old movie and television show plots, you're right, it's been done before, and usually much better than in this very short story. Bad guys meet good dog, dog wins eventually but not until he's been through a lot more than a poor dog should have to.
This story was upsetting to an adult (me) and certainly would be inappropriate for a child. The best thing about this book is the cover photo. Not recommended.
PRODUCT UPDATE - 6 JULY 2013
The additional material added to the product in the updated version has improved the story and has provided more balance to Pepper's story. Backstory of Pepper's life with his family and some additional adventures after he was dognapped and during his long journey home have fleshed out the story nicely.
A number of photographs and illustrations have been added with the update as well, which would be of use if reading this story to children to help keep their interest and help with their imaging Pepper's ordeal.
Note to the author: there are still a few minor kinks to work out in the editing, most occurring during Pepper's stay with the adopting family. The family renamed the dog Blackie, but there's a slip up when both the girl and her dad refer to him as Pepper. The little girl's name also briefly changed from Belinda to Amy and back again during the same passage. Minor corrections are needed for the next update.
Otherwise the story has improved enough to rate an extra star up to a 4 star rating. I can now in good conscience recommend the story for children and all animal loving adults.
