Sinossi

A full-length STANDALONE romantic comedy from USA TODAY bestselling author R.S. Grey.

When her mother’s incessant matchmaking hits an all-time high, Georgie Archibald does what any sensible woman would do: she flees the country.

Seeking refuge in the picturesque seaside village of Vernazza, Italy, Georgie’s only plan is to lie low, gorge herself on gelato, and let the wine and waves wash her troubles away...that is until she wakes up in a bed that belongs to the most romantic-looking man she’s ever seen.

Gianluca.

After going out of his way to rescue her, the former London financier turned mysterious recluse makes it clear that despite acting as her white knight, he has no plans to co-star in her fairytale.

But Georgie isn’t asking for his heart—she’s merely intrigued.

After all, Gianluca isn’t just gorgeous—tall and tan from days spent in the sun—his touch sets her world on fire. With him, Georgie experiences the most intoxicating passion she’s ever known, and it only takes a few steamy nights for her to realize that sometimes running away from trouble is the best way to find it.

"I don't want you to wait around for me to move on, because honestly, I don't know when these feelings are supposed to pass. I can't give you a timeline."

4.0 su 5 stelle I absolutely fell in love with her in Settling The Score 24 ottobre 2016

4 Cosmic Stars Stars!

**ARC provided by author in exchange for an honest review**

I literally squealed when I found out that Georgie was getting her own book!! I absolutely fell in love with her in Settling The Score. And then to find out it was to be set in Italy!?! SIGN. ME. UP!

So if you didn't read Settling The Score #1, go read it, #2 This book can be read as a standalone, but we really get a great understanding of Georgie's character in Freddy and Andie's book. We learn that Georgie is a spunky and vivacious woman. She is hilarious in only a way that she can, but loyal and always the life of the party.

In A Place in the Sun Georgie jets off to Italy to find a man. What she finds is herself waking up in a dusty room after a long day of travels with no clue how she got there.

"Oh my Liam Neeson. I've been taken!"

Even after arming herself with chewing gum, ginger candies, peppermints and enough Dramamine to take down a horse, Georgie was worse for wears when walking into the town square of Vernazza. After passing out, two deliciously gorgeous Italian men came to her rescue and provided her with shelter. Enter Gianluca. And yes, his name needs to be italicized.

We learn very quickly that Gianluca is still healing from a very broken heart. He keeps Georgie at a distance, like he does with all the women in Vernazza. Georgia instantly falls in love with not just the picturesque little town, but all the characters that dwell there too.

One of my favorite things that are always a staple in RS Grey's books is that I fall in love with the side characters as much as I do with the main characters. I especially loved Georgie and Katarina's friendship as well as Massimo and Gianluca's brotherly love.

Gianluca and Georgie finally settle into a friendship that both want to make into something more, but Gianluca isn't quite ready to give up the ghost's hiding in his closet. We are taken along with them throughout their twisting and turning journey of finding love, happiness and their place in the sun.

I really ended up enjoying this book. With that said, I felt that there were just a few pieces missing along the way that I wanted filled in order to make a whole. I loved how Grey ended this book though. I was hoping for it to go there and she did. It made my smile from the inside out. I will be holding on to Georgie and Luca for some time!

4.0 su 5 stelle Sweet, Sexy with just the right blend of angst. 25 ottobre 2016
Di Kristine: Glass Paper Ink Bookblog - Pubblicato su Amazon.com
Formato: Formato Kindle Acquisto verificato
For fans of R.S. Grey, Georgie Archibald burst onto the scene in Settling The Score (The Summer Games #1) as Olympic Gold medalist Freddie Archibald's loud and energetic younger sister, everything about the gregarious and often misunderstood by her mother Georgie intrigued me, in terms of female side characters, Georgie was certainly one I hoped to know better. When the younger Archibald has had enough of her meddling mother and her incessant match making ways, she spins a globe and lands on Vernazza, Italy. Off on an adventure, Georgie is determined the live the life she imagined, find love and step out from under the expectations of her demanding mother.

"The day I got intimidated by another woman would be the day I was no longer Georgie Archibald."

Georgie isn't the only one that found themselves in Italy because of love, whereas she hopes to find it, Gianluca hopes to forget the pain and destruction it brings. Scarred and broken from his past dalliance with love, Gianluca is in no way ready for a second go around the block regardless of how attracted he may be to the British spitfire that seems to be everywhere he is.

"Because women always do," explained Katerina. "They think they'll swoop in and coax him out of his shell. They want to heal him like a bird with a broken wing, but it's actually easier with birds, because they want to fly so badly. Gianluca-well, for the past five years, he's made it clear he doesn't want to be healed. He wants to stay on the ground."

Full of Grey's trademark wit, A Place in the Sun is equal parts sweet and sexy, with the perfect amount of angst thrown in for fun, Georgie and Luca's chemistry was tangible, so real it jumped from the page, their burgeoning relationship was everything I look for a romantic comedy, funny, sweet, sexy as hell, the more I read, the deeper I fell down the rabbit hole that is the worlds Grey continues to create. For lovers of quintessential contemporary romance, who want to relax with a book and lose themselves within the words, who want something a little deeper than your stereotypical rom com, A Place in the Sun is destine to be a sure fire hit.

5.0 su 5 stelle I would love nothing more than to reread this beautiful piece of ... 28 ottobre 2016
Di Andie - Pubblicato su Amazon.com

This book has consumed me from the inside out - heart, body, and soul. I would love nothing more than to reread this beautiful piece of work right now and I might have already if all my unread books weren't screaming at me. R.S. Grey has been on my auto-buy list for awhile now (for good reason!) and she never ceases to amaze me with her creativity. You know how a lot of romance novels tend to blend in after so long? That's not something I have ever experienced with R.S. Grey. Each and every character she writes has distinctive qualities about them and the storylines are always fun and original.

Twenty-six years old, Georgie Archibald is fed up of her mothers matchmaking and pushing her to lock down a husband. It's not as if she doesn't want to settle down, in fact she's been growing a bit lonely and would love nothing more than someone to spend her life with. But after many failed set ups with just about every eligible bachelor under the sun, she decides to take matters into her own hands and take an extended holiday. Leaving her destination to chance and the spin of a globe, Georgie is off to the sunny seaside village - Vernazza, Italy.

It doesn't take long for Georgie to meet Gianluca, the most handsome man she's ever laid eyes on. Tall, dark, and Italian - Georgie is smitten right from the start. If only her longing were reciprocated, the whole finding a husband business would be a piece of cake.

Gianluca is no stranger to loss and has no desire to fall in love. No matter how hard his loved ones have tried, the walls Luca has built around himself have been impenetrable for years and he'd be damned to let a spoiled rich girl on holiday infiltrate them. Despite his best efforts, circumstance leads them to working together and a friendship slowly begins to build, growing stronger each day. As their bond grows so does their attraction to one another and there comes a point where neither can deny their feelings any longer.

We briefly met Georgie in a previous book and I know I speak for everyone when I say that I have been dying for this girls book since her first words spoken! She's someone that everyone wishes were their best friend - kind, loyal, down to earth, and always up for a good laugh. Georgie is a fighter and doesn't give up on something that she wants, perseverance always wins out. And Gianluca, boy is this man dreamy! Even when he was closed off in the beginning I found myself gravitating towards him just as Georgie had...I wanted to see him open up, I wanted to see him heal. Once those walls started to crumble we were able to see the incredible nature of Gianluca - a man who loves hard and forever.

There isn't a single thing I don't like about this book! There is so much to love after all. R.S. Grey writes the picturesque Italian setting with so much vivid detail that it was easy to see myself alongside Georgie taking in all the beautiful colors, the sweeping views of the sea, tasting the food, and sipping on wine. The slow burn romance was sweet and delicious and just the right pace to make this romance believable. The side characters are so much more involved than most side characters are and that is one of my favorite things about this book.

I could go on and on but as I said before, I love EVERYTHING about this book. If you love romance then don't take my word for how incredible this is and find out for yourself! A Place in the Sun is a must read and amidst your swooning, I guarantee you'll have one heck of a good time!

5.0 su 5 stelle Written Words Create Vivid Imagery and a Weave a Beautiful Journey to Find Love 25 ottobre 2016
Di Kindle Customer - Pubblicato su Amazon.com

This was a beautifully told story that created such vivid images in my mind while reading it. The beauty of the water and the sun, the old villas, the charm of walking through an open air market. This all added to the heartbreaking beauty of Georgie and Gianluca's journey to find healing and love. So well written that I felt so much emotion and I also laughed quite a bit. Georgie was a quirky girl and her inner musings where very funny. The bit in the beginning about being "taken" was extremely funny! The book was a gem and I loved every written word.

3.0 su 5 stelle Romance with reclusive hero 1 novembre 2016
Di Danielle - Pubblicato su Amazon.com

What drew me to A Place in the Sun was the premise of a rich girl trying to escape her matchmaking mother by running away to Italy, then being intrigued by an Italian man only for him to be a little cold, mean and reclusive.

It went a little different than that.

I did like it. But it was a little different than I expected, and I did find some issues with it.

Luca is reclusive, he is distant at first, and he can't even remember Georgie's name. That part was kinda funny, even though I didn't find this novel all that humorous for being called a romantic comedy. What the synopsis failed to divulge is that Luca is distant because he is still in love with his dead ex-wife.

Now, don't get me wrong. I have read these stories, and I have enjoyed them. This one rubbed me the wrong way because eighty percent into the story Luca still couldn't let himself fall for Georgie because he still loved his wife. And he even told her at that time that she'd never mean more to him than his wife did.

Fine. Whatever. I understand loss is a difficult thing and some people handle it differently. What I didn't like was that Georgie didn't care. She told him she wanted to still be with him regardless. And that gave me a bitter taste in my mouth. If any man told me I would always be second in his life to some other woman, I'd tell him to leave and not to let the door hit him on the way out.

Putting that problem I had aside, I did feel his love for Georgie at the end. And I did think he 'healed' and was ready to move on.

I loved the setting in Italy, it felt like I was on vacation, but the plot did move a little slow for my tastes, and this wasn't a novel that I loved. But I would recommend it to other readers who like R.S. Grey or reclusive heroes.
