Romance, revenge, and the meaning of home combine in this story about second chances. It’s November 1972 in the less-than-bucolic English countryside. David’s relationship with his French girlfriend disintegrates when a pretty Canadian offers him a marriage of convenience to solve her visa problems. David must not lose focus or a vengeful magistrate will steal Wyndlan, the family farm.

A Primrose in November by Luanne Birch Oleas

This is a wonderful complex story, with captivating twists and turns through out. It takes place in the English countyside and small towns. The characters are engaging and believable, to the point that you feel like you know them. Ms. Oleas writes in such a way that you can actually feel, hear and smell the surroundings by her poetic and flowing detailed discriptions of each scene. You can actually visualize where everything is taking place. I highly reccomnend this book to anyone who wants to get caught up in a novel that you don't want to see end. Curl up in your favorite chair and enjoy!! In fact I'm reading it a second time right now.

I love a book that strongly evokes a place and a way of life the way this book does. I also need to care about what happens to the characters; David, his family, Lyn, and Michelle are real and believable. Synchronicity has a big role in the story, although in sometimes unexpected ways. If you enjoy a good romance with more than one mystery and some legal maneuvering, this one will keep you engrossed all the way.
