As an artist, being reborn may mean to take on new challenges, taking advantage of a treasure chest full of encounters, opportunities and the many goals one has already achieved, despite a young age, and releasing one's own debut album as a leader. Jacopo Ferrazza wrote all the tracks on Rebirth, except for Pirandello Madness (by Stefano Carbonelli), producing jazz music that consists of endless inspirations, energy, colors. Supported by Carbonelli on guitar and Valerio Vantaggio on drums, he manages to conceive and play soft, flowing jazz, marked by clear melodic features and sophisticated exploration of timbre, always forceful, unprecedented, novel as is any rebirth. From Indigo Generation, a wonder of cohesiveness not confined to the movements of the bass, guitar and drums sharing the same rhythm, passing through the enchanting moods in Living the Bridge or the unique, dual vibe in After Wien, both constant and suspended in moments of increasingly passionate sound, it is as if Jacopo Ferrazza and his trio squared a circle: solos, filled with the creative talents of all three musicians, stand out against the ensemble's wonderfully consistent sonic texture, which, in turn, so perfect and throbbing with vitality, stands out against solos, in an intriguing alternation and overlapping of scripted and unscripted music. Rebirth, the title and last track on this CD, gathers all the wealth of sounds disseminated throughout the preceding tracks and Jacopo Ferrazza's intense musical life. An irresistible blend of experience and freshness, that freshness being the essential creative oxygen that only novel ideas can circulate. Under the supervision of music producer Ermanno Basso, Rebirth was recorded and mixed by Stefano Amerio at Artesuono Recording Studio in Cavalicco, Italy in April 2016, and mastered by Danilo Rossi.
