The Reign of God: A Gospel Story (English Edition) Formato Kindle
The Reign of God comic series continues in Kefar Nachum (Capernaum at the Sea of Galilee), where Yeshua (Jesus of Nazareth) assembled his first followers.
Through vivid depictions of first-century life and landscape, readers experience the impact of Jesus’ message—and his miracles—anew. Above all, The Reign of God is a hard-edged character drama with soul, centering on friendship, faith, and the vision of changing the world.
“It’s such a clever way to introduce readers unfamiliar with the Gospel to the person of Jesus and the ideals he presented by the very way he lived.” (Joyce Ray, author and poet)
THE STORY OF CHRISTIAN ORIGINS
For many months, the enigmatic Yochanan (John the Baptist) has preached the arrival of God’s new reign at the Jordan. But now, the guards of Prince Herod have arrested him.
Thrown into confusion, Yochanan’s disciples part ways: Yeshua (Jesus) disappears into the wilderness, and Shimon, the vagabond, goes to Galilee, where soon a new prophet is going to arise...

Issey Fujishima is a multi-talented creator with years of design and photography experience in Japan. His passion project "The Reign of God" is his debut work as a graphic novel artist.
Born and raised in Germany, the Japanese-German grew up between evangelical Christianity and anime culture. Looking for deeper insights into his faith led him to an intentional farming commune in Japan where he lived with people of different religions and cultures. Never satisfied with easy answers, he then started exploring the "historical Jesus" and what scholars call "Second Temple Judaism." Jesus' original message of a Kingdom of Heaven is the basis for Issey's book for which he also travelled to Israel and hiked through Palestine.
Just as Issey himself, his art fuses various cultural influences that cross genre boundaries. With his background in cinema, his visual storytelling is inspired by the films of Kurosawa Akira and Ridley Scott as much as photojournalism. His favorite manga are the works of Miyazaki Hayao (Nausicaä) and Morohoshi Daijirô.--Questo testo si riferisce a un'edizione fuori stampa o non disponibile di questo titolo.
