Some men are born responsible, some men have responsibility thrust upon them. Henry John Edgar Thomas Pembrook, Prince of Wessco, just got the motherlode of all responsibility dumped in his regal lap.

He’s not handling it well.

Hoping to help her grandson to rise to the occasion, Queen Lenora agrees to give him "space"—but while the Queen’s away, the Prince will play. After a chance meeting with an American television producer, Henry finally makes a decision all on his own:

Welcome to Matched: Royal Edition.

A reality TV dating game show featuring twenty of the world's most beautiful blue bloods gathered in the same castle. Only one will win the diamond tiara, only one will capture the handsome prince’s heart.

While Henry revels in the sexy, raunchy antics of the contestants as they fight, literally, for his affection, it’s the quiet, bespectacled girl in the corner—with the voice of an angel and a body that would tempt a saint—who catches his eye.

The more Henry gets to know Sarah Mirabelle Zinnia Von Titebottum, the more enamored he becomes of her simple beauty, her strength, her kind spirit... and her naughty sense of humor.

But Rome wasn’t built in a day—and irresponsible royals aren’t reformed overnight.

As he endeavors to right his wrongs, old words take on whole new meanings for the dashing Prince. Words like, Duty, Honor and most of all—Love.

Emma Chase is the New York Times and USA Today bestselling author of the hot and hilarious Tangled series and The Legal Briefs series. Emma lives in New Jersey with her husband, two children and two naughty (but really cute) dogs. She has a long-standing love/hate relationship with caffeine.

5.0 su 5 stelle Seclusion might do the boy some good. Henry is bored 21 febbraio 2017
Di shellbelle - Pubblicato su
Formato: Formato Kindle Acquisto verificato
Look out world... the Prince of Wessco ... Prince Henry Charles Albert Edgar Pembroke is preparing to take the throne. First he has to work out a few kinks. Prince Henry has a tendency to attract the wrong kind of attention. This devilish prince has a penchant for getting into trouble, partying a little too much, and chasing all the fair maidens. Now that his older brother has given up his birthright, the responsibility has fallen on Henry. Is he the right man to rule Wessco? The old bat, her grandmotherly highness, the Queen of Wessco has serious doubts. After several failed training attempts, she has sent Henry to the country castle to complete his tasks. Seclusion might do the boy some good.

Henry is bored. He doesn't care about protocol or politics. He'd rather get his toenails plucked than study the laws of the country. In his boredom he agrees to film a television reality show where the prince chooses his bride. It will be great fun with a great bunch of ladies in waiting.

Beneath the surface Henry is so much more than the party prince. He really does care about Wessco. His biggest fear is taking over and making mistakes. But he has something to offer the country that her Queenship and his brother never could. He has the heart of the people. He has more compassion and understanding of the citizens in the kingdom. He can connect with them on their level.

While filming the show, he soon learns being prince charming isn't all it's cracked up to be. It's not as fun or spontaneous as he hoped. Now he's hiding and trying to escape the ladies in waiting. When he meets Sarah Mirabelle Zinnia Von Titebottum, the sister of one of the ladies in waiting, he has found a friend amongst the slew of prospecting princesses. Sarah is smart, shy, and challenges him at every turn. She doesn't care if she offends his royal blood, she sees the man beneath the crown. The saddest part of all is she is not a contestant. They have to sneak around to spend time with another. Henry can't wait for this diabolical show, one of his own making, to be over so that he can claim his queen.

The Prince is in for a few lessons of life, love, and happiness. He is going to learn to love his position in life. He is also going to find that doing things the right way means so much more than taking the easy road. The best thing of all of it is finding Sarah, his soon to be queen.

Emma Chase has once again delivered a fun romantic romp that is loaded with very real emotions. I absolutely loved this book.

5.0 su 5 stelle Funny, inspiring, sweet, and sexy- I'm in love with Royally Matched! 9 marzo 2017

Prince Henry has just been handed the biggest responsibility of his life- to become the future king. He however, has other things on his mind, such as how many girls he can get into his bed. When the possibility of getting tons of action falls into his lap, he jumps at the chance. What he doesn't expect though, is shy, sweet, and somewhat spunky Sarah. Sarah has no desire to be in the limelight, but acting as her sister's assistant on a royal dating show? Well, at least it allows her to read and not work for six weeks. What she doesn't expect is to fall for the star of the show himself.
Emma Chase is hilarious, I've been a huge fan of her books, but she's outdone herself with Royally Matched. I completely devoured this book in one sitting. The characters come alive, the jokes never miss, and the sex is downright sinful. This one is going in the memory books for sure!

5.0 su 5 stelle Move over Prince Nicholas, your brother just took over the #1 spot in my heart! 22 febbraio 2017
Di Kim U - Pubblicato su
Formato: Formato Kindle Acquisto verificato
When I read Royally Screwed, I absolutely loved Prince Nicholas but he is going to have to move on over because Henry has taken over the #1 spot in my heart between the two brothers!

Up until a few months ago, Henry was just the spare to the heir with few cares in the world. He embraces living life to its fullest which has given his grandmother Queen Lenora more than a few moments of frustrations, but now that Nicholas has abdicated his place in line for the throne, Henry is feeling the pressure of being the future king- and he is absolutely hating it. He has always been the lovable goof who will break the tension with a good joke or prank, and he is both chafing against and drowning under the weight of the new expectations and responsibilities placed upon him. Nicholas realizes that his brother is struggling and he returns to Wessco to try to ease the way a bit with their grandmother. He has faith in Henry's ability to rise above it all, and his comparisons between Henry and their mom would be wonderful if Henry thought they were actually true when he overhears Nicholas and the queen talking. She reluctantly takes Nicholas's advice and takes a vacation leaving Henry to find his way on his own... and oh boy, the trouble that man can find! Enter an American producer pitching a bit of fun for him to sink his teeth into: a royal version of the reality TV show Matched where he can find his future queen if the urge strikes him to do so. Game on, it's time for Henry to get his groove back!

As the contestants start showing up, Henry comes face to face with a quiet beauty who intrigued him in the past: Sarah Titebottum. She agreed to come along to try to keep her sister Penny out of trouble while she competes on the show, but Sarah is completely out of her element even though she will remain in the shadows observing it all. Sarah is a quiet soul who loves her books, particularly the classics, and I loved how she equated everything in her life to a certain character or scene from a beloved book. Once upon a time she was daring but she stills bears the scars of those choices in her psyche today. Now she panics in unknown situations as she lives in a certain amount of fear at all times, and loud noises can trigger PTSD-related blackout events.

When Henry finds her hiding out in the woods reading one of her favorite novels, he can't help but notice her beauty beneath the plain exterior even as he enjoys a little verbal sparring and fun with her. And yes, Henry has a little bit of fun with her last name as he discovers how much fun it is to make her blush with his constant innuendos! Sarah may be quiet, but it's those quiet ones you need to watch out for. Although Henry is supposed to be paying attention to the contestants, insomnia and nightmares drive him to seek quiet and solitude which surprisingly leads him to Sarah's door. She has plenty of spirit and she finds herself responding to Henry as an equal rather than as the future king of their land because he makes it easy to talk to him with his carefully calculated verbal pokes guaranteed to get a rise out of her. He just never expects her to be able to see him so easily when so many others are too busy trying to figure out what it is that he can do for them. She realizes that he has never really felt needed in the grand scheme of his family and that he uses humor to deflect and camouflage the depth of both his feelings and his vulnerabilities, and she sees his potential even if he chooses not to believe in it. He is both fiercely protective and caring, and she finds herself falling hard for the simultaneously sexy and adorable man... but she is sure it can only lead to heartache for her if she continues down that path.

The slow burn and UST between them was so well written, and I loved every minute of it! Henry definitely smolders and he is drop dead sexy, but he also instinctively knows just how far and how hard to push Sarah to expand her horizons. Her daring side is still there hidden beneath her fears and scars, and it slowly starts to emerge under Henry's careful guidance. When they finally give in to the chemistry and desire, I am surprised they don't spontaneously combust!

As the shenanigans of the show continue around him, Henry finds himself in yet another sticky situation. He can't deny that he is falling for Sarah, but he has committed to Matched and has a contract that must be honored unless he can find a way out of it. Sarah's belief in him reaches Henry in a way that no one else has been able to, and he knows that he cannot let her go. Sarah's fear of attention and her painful past are a concern for him but he is sure that they can find a way to navigate this mess to find a future together if she is willing to take a chance on truly living again. In typical Henry fashion, he mucks it all up a bit before he reaches deep, mans up and finds a way to fix it. The last few chapters were pretty unexpected but they felt like the perfect path to their HEA. Royally Matched is one of my new favorite reads of the year and I cannot recommend it enough!

5.0 su 5 stelle I LOVED HENRY!!!! :) 2 aprile 2017

Now first I'm just going to say this.... Not very often do I ever adore the 2nd book, or however many books may follow after the first, of a series more than the first. Because seriously... Watch out DISNEY.. You guys seriously thought your Princes were amazing, you obviously haven't met Nicholas and Henry Pembrook! ;)

Royally Matched picks up some time after Royally Screwed ended. When we last saw Prince Henry, he is now Crown Prince Heir to the throne of Wessco, a title his older brother Prince Nicholas abdicated and gave up. Henry was always raised as the heir spare, never had to worry about constant spotlight because he was never in line to be King. That all changed in a matter of moments. Henry is a bad boy, childish, stricken with grief in many ways, broken, and 'pitiful' as he calls himself. Does he want to be King? Absolutely not. I first started reading this as if Henry truly resented his brother for dropping such a huge burden on his shoulders.

This story is truly amazing. In many ways, because obviously, who doesn't love a story about a hot prince finding love?? Mixed with love, drama, and reality television. These are just a few factors that made this story so great. While Henry is living away from the Palace, he enters into a contract to participate in a Royal Edition of a hit reality television show called Matched! And enter Sarah. She is shy, quiet, adorable, a BOOKWORM (like many of us are, one reason why i loved her so much), and probably the true definition of innocence. She was not a television participant. I would classify their relationship from beginning to end as a more friendship to lovers story. I adore that version of genre and it really translated into such a good story here! Royally Matched is a book I didn't want to end! I couldn't put it down but found myself in awe and also upset when it was over! Emma Chase really knows how to write a good book and she's really becoming one of my go-to authors already.

Emma Chase went so beyond with this book. A few similarities to Book One if you've read it, but still wonderful in its own way. I would say this can be read as a standalone. It seemed easy enough to follow even if you didn't read the first book. I can't wait to read about Logan in Royally Endowed. There is jokes, and really explicit scenes. The sex is downright delicious and far more entertaining than what I was reading in Royally Screwed! Fall in love with Henry. I did! It would be impossible not to, because if you loved Prince Nicholas in Royally Screwed, you'll double love and adore Prince Henry!! I loved him from beginning to end! Totally going in the Favorites Shelf!! :) Now, if I had to decide which book out of the two I enjoyed the most I would most definitely say Royally Matched!

5.0 su 5 stelle Another fantastic book in this series! 24 febbraio 2017

I love Emma Chase, she’s the Queen of the funny yet hot male POV and this book was no exception. As you know, I absolutely adored Royally Screwed, it was in my Top Books of 2016 as my top Romantic Comedy. So, after reading Royally Screwed I was desperately looking forward to Henry’s book, and it totally did not disappoint. This is a super funny, light-hearted and sexy book and I loved it.

If you’ve read Royally Screwed, this book continues the story but now with Henry (Nicholas’ brother) as the main character. Henry is not in a great place at the start of the book, his brother has found true love and abdicated the throne of Wesco. Now Henry is the new Crown Prince and future King, a title he definitely never thought he would have nor does he thinks he deserves. On top of that, Henry needs to find a future Queen.

Gosh, I love Henry, even weepy, depressed Henry is hilarious!

“The eighties are a sorely underrated decade in terms of musical composition. They don’t get nearly the respect they deserve. I try to use my platform in the world to bring attention to this travesty by singing eighties ballads whenever I get the chance. Like right now, as I sing “What About Me” by Moving Pictures on the karaoke stage. It was their one-hit wonder and a soul-stirring exercise in self-pity. My eyes are closed as I belt out the lyrics and sway behind the microphone.”

Henry has always being portrayed by the media as a playboy Prince, which is sorta true, but underneath he’s more of a sensitive bohemian. He is approached by a producer to be the star of a dating reality show. After much thought, Henry decides that it would be a great idea because he could potentially sleep with a few women and have fun. Well, he’s in for a big surprise.

Now, I know many people would be turned off by the idea of book about a reality show. This is far from it, I would say that the reality show aspect is more of a backdrop. Plus, since they need to find women suitable to be Queen, virginity is an issue so sex is actually off the table in the show. So, rest assure Henry is not sleeping with these other women. The real relationship is happening behind the scenes! Enter Lady Sarah Titebottum.

Sara was shy, reserved and a lover of literature. She’s not a contestant on the show but is there to accompany her sister who is a contestant. Sara is such a sweet character. I totally loved her references to literature and her overall outlook in life.

“There are meetings in books that stand out, that alter the course of the story. Profound encounters between characters when one soul seems to say to the other, “There you are—I’ve been looking for you.””

“Henry Pembrook isn’t a Fiyero—he’s a Willoughby. A John Willoughby from Sense and Sensibility—thrilling, charming, unpredictable, and seductive. Marianne Dashwood learned the hard way that if you play with a heartbreaker, you can’t be surprised when your heart gets shattered into a thousand pieces.”

Henry is immediately drawn to Sara, to her vulnerability and sensitive soul, and they form a strong friendship that eventually develops into something else. This story is super sweet, and the romance is slow burning.

“What a strange pair we are. The sad boy and the frightened girl.”

It’s also super funny. Their banter at times is hilarious!

The book is also super romantic and hot at times.

““I’m sick of being afraid, Henry. And I’m so tired of being alive . . . but not really living. I want this; I’ve wanted it for a long time. I want . . . you.””

“Anything that came before is nothing. This is all that matters. This brave, stunning girl in my arms is all I will ever need.”

“Then what if he just stood in front of her and said, ‘I’m sorry. And I miss you. I want to be a better man for you and because I love you so much, I actually believe I can be.’ Do you think she’d give him a chance then?”

“I want to change the world with you at my side, holding your hand. I love you, Sarah, and whatever happens, I promise there won’t be a day that I don’t love you with all that I am.”

Overall, I loved this book a lot. It was a great sequel to another great book. Like all other Emma Chase books I’ve read this was sweet, fun and hot. She’s definitely one of my favorite authors and I can’t wait for whatever she comes up with next. I absolutely recommend Royally Matched. And if you haven’t read Royally Screwed you need to pick it up too!
