I ordered all three books. I am on the second one. They are interesting, have some mystery, love stories and some illness. They are well written and it is hard to put the book down. I highly recommend these books. Kristen Heitzmann is a good writer. I have several of her books and I have enjoyed all her stories.

5.0 su 5 stelle Very real. Gripping. 25 marzo 2016

Noelle was clearly suffering from something in her past that was being triggered by just about everything around her, so she runs. She leaves a message on her father's voice mail, withdraws $2000 from her account and takes herself to Colorado, to a very remote area where she can't be found.
There she gets a room at a ranch/retreat spot and tries not only to escape and forget, but heal. We get the impression that her fiancé did something to make her scared enough to break it off, and doesn't want him to find her.
While there she comes to know two very different brothers. One (Rick) is a Christian and the owner of the ranch, the other (Morgan) seems to be a free spirited unbeliever who just wants to have a good time. Attracted to Morgan because he seems not to want anything from her but a fun time, she finds Rick intriguing because of how aloof he is.
Maintaining her control and not letting anyone in, nor sharing anything deep about herself, she lives at the Ranch in seclusion and safety until four things shake her...a fire, a horse accident, Morgan's departure making her get to know Rick more (all the while rejecting the faith he shares), then she's forced to leave the ranch, take up residence in a dingy shack and run out of money.
Okay...my opinion...
A number of people gave 1-star reviews because they didn't like Noelle. She had too many panic episodes, and snits, and pushing away anyone coming close to her. The reviewers felt the author made her unlikable.
However, I've seen repressed memories coming out of a woman because of people brutally and sexually abusing a her when she was young. I can tell you, it does some awful things to a person. It can transform a seemingly happy person into a scared, unsure person who suffers every time memories surface. It happened almost like what I read from this character. So I can't fault the author for writing it so often in the book...her episodes, her removal from reality, her confusion and remoteness. It's very real, very gripping.
Kudos to the author for not being graphic. What we see are glimpses of foggy scary things, but none of the actual horrible events. That sort of writing can make a person uneasy enough to put a book down forever. No, the author did it with sensitivity, but keeps you riveted.
Good book. Great presentation of the gospel and many aspects of faith without being preachy.
Loved it! Recommend it!

This story was well written but really needed some serious editing. There was way too much useless information given. I found myself skipping everything but the dialogue towards the middle of the book and on to the end!!
I have to say that Noelle was very unlikable. She irritated me throughout the story and I don't know why every guy she meets falls in love with her. She had no redeeming qualities at all, yet she left a staggering amount of broken hearts everywhere she went.
I did, however, like Rick and Morgan. I wish the author would have given them a real heroine to love. Not a self centered little spoiled brat!

With so many reviews mine likely won't count yet I wanted to express my feelings.
This book is wonderful in many ways. It does depict true unconditional love, the love that only comes by knowing Jesus and accepting his rejoicing love over us. Because of that love, Ric in this story, was able to extend tender compassion to a young woman even though he didn't fully understand her fears.
We don't consider that a child can suffer from P.T.S.D. yet reading this story I was able to see for the first time, how my own early childhood experiences have driven the fear within me.
Due to that, I see that I have become somewhat of a recluse still trapped as a result of many life trauma's.
Jesus does set us free, and this story helps with this understanding. It may not be immediate, but with prayer and knowledge of the Fathers love, it will come.

O.K. Think I am crazy - that's all right with me. Several years ago I picked this book up on a bargain table and read it. Since I had the other two on my Kindle I decided to purchase this so I'd have them all. KH writes such beautiful novels. I love the way she weaves Scripture in to her books. I should say that I did read it through on my Kindle and that helped me to remember the story from reading it before. This trilogy is now a part of my Kindle library and I know in the future - five or so years down the road - I won't hesitate to go back in and read it on a snowy day in Michigan. My focus is primarily on Christian fiction and KH has to be just about my favorite writer. Blessings to her for her work and the use of God's word.
