I’m usually a massive fan of supernatural Y/A fiction, but for me, this one fell a little flat. I liked the premise – young witch discovers she has powers and a secret family history that puts her at the centre of a magical conflict that spans across time. But less than a month after finishing this book, I’ve already forgotten most that happened. It was readable, but it just didn’t have that ‘X’ factor that kept me hooked. One of the only things that has stuck with me is that the love story wasn’t entirely convincing. For the speed and apparent intensity that the two main characters fell in love, there wasn’t much passion in the writing to back it up. The male character also had pretty strong views on his duty to protect the innocent naïve female at any cost, which was quite irritating at times.

This is a powerful story which takes the reader on a journey with the characters, giving it a real personal feel. I loved Blake's and Merediths relationship, however the story did feel slightly Twilight-y with the whole family and boyfriend situation. But it was a really pleasant read which made me want to keep reading- I finished the book in less than two days! Perfect book choice for someone wanting a light read to take their minds off everyday stress and worries :)

This novel left me feeling unsure.

The storyline is a good one and has so much potential, but in some parts it dragged out for me. This is a first novel I have read from author. It didn't flow for me, no connection between the characters for me. It isn't enough for me to continue the series which is a shame,but it's not just for me.

Going and against the consensus here but I found this a little weak. I liked the premise initially but found Meredith and blakes relationship a bit too much. It seemed to move too quickly - I like this build up. And then**********SPOILER ALERT***********
it ended with time travel ?? No thanks. :)

This was a nice 2 part series.

Its a coming of age story where a girl discovers a secret world of magic exists and that she is actually a powerful witch.

It's a sweet love story really and is light and not dark in any way. Good for teens and those who like happy endings
