TCSUNBOW 120GB SATAIII 2.5 Inch Internal Solid State Drive for Notebook Tablet Desktop PC, Black

Hard disk di una marca non tra le più blasonate, l'ho presa per un pc muletto su cui non volevo spendere cifre esagerate di un Samsung Evo o un Crucial. Sapevo che rispetto a queste avrei perso qualcosina, ma in realtà nemmeno così tanto, conti fatti.

L'articolo arriva in una bella scatolina cartonata in cui si intravede l'SSD, corredato da un cavetto che altre marche non mi han dato; apprezzabile, visto che non ne ho mai abbastanza di questi cavi.

Scrittura lettura non tanto peggiori rispetto al Samsung Evo che ho sull'altro portatile, a fronte di una quindicina di euro risparmiati che è tutto un progetto. Se si cerca il top del top, va bene investire cifre più alte, ma a questo punto meglio puntare direttamente agli M2, per un ssd di questa categoria, sono contentissimo così.

Acquistato con offerta a tempo a 27,59€ per la pezzatura da 240GB devo dire che è stato un vero affare.
Tramite Partition Wizard (free) ci ho clonato sopra tutto il contenuto (Windows 10 64 bit Pro e svariate applicazioni) da un SSD Samsung 850 EVO da 500GB per sostituirlo a quest'ultimo (mi serviva per altro PC) quale disco di sistema per un vecchio notebook Dell e tutto è andato benissimo. Sostituito senza alcun problema all'SSD Samsung questo TCSUNBOW è partito al primo colpo, senza problemi e a livello di prestazioni siamo veramente vicini al Samsung 850, da non accorgersi della differenza sia per l'avvio di Windows che con applicazioni e copia dati.
Confezione essenziale ma ottima, per il costo non si può davvero pretendere di più. Qualche GG (circa una settimana) per la consegna ma era ampiamente esplicitato al momento dell'ordine.
Sulla durata solo il tempo potrà dare una risposta ma per il momento non posso che consigliarlo caldamente in particolare per resuscitare a costo risibile vecchi PC (notebook e desktop) che col disco meccanico non ce la fanno più.
Una nota la merita anche Partition Wizard (free) che permette di clonare dischi più capienti su dischi meno capienti (ovviamente purché lo spazio sul disco meno capiente sia abbastanza) con una semplicità disarmante e una rapidità incredibile.

24/08/2020 - Leggendo le recensioni, prima di completare l'acquisto, ho notato pareri assolutamente contrastanti, tra chi diceva che si trovava bene, chi male, chi ha ricevuto un HDD anziché un SSD, chi aveva il computer che non riconosceva la periferica e chi più ne ha più ne metta, questo fa pensare a quanto possano essere potenti come strumento le recensioni lasciate, ma questo è un altro discorso. La verità, almeno per quanto riguarda la mia esperienza in materia e la mia esperienza nell'acquisto è che prima di acquistare occorre fare alcune considerazioni e farsi qualche domanda in merito, tipo: che cosa ci devo fare con QUESTO SSD? Che cosa sto comprando? So che cos'è un SSD E SOPRATTUTTO so installarlo e configurarlo autonomamente? Se una persona sa rispondere a queste domande allora può acquistare senza troppe remore altrimenti andate su un altro prodotto. Facendola semplice, una memoria appena arriva è "grezza" quindi il PC ovviamente non la riconosce quindi occorre dire al PC "guarda che sta roba qui è una memoria" e per fare ciò bisogna (almeno su Windows) digitare un comando particolare in ESEGUI e fare una partizione di questa memoria, assegnargli una lettera (per esempio E:) e poi è pronto allo scopo. Personalmente se avete un PC da lavoro serio non comprate sta roba qua, andate su Samsung PRO e avete affidabilità. Se avete un PC di cui non vi importa nulla e volete rimetterlo in piedi, oppure volete usarlo come disco di backup oppure ci mettete dati non importanti allora potrebbe fare al caso vostro perché: questa memoria non è il massimo dal punto di vista dell'affidabilità (se comprate un Samsung PRO e lo mettete di fianco a questa memoria salta subito all'occhio che è qualcosa di "diverso") se avete paura di perdere dati sensibili non conviene usarla come memoria principale, piuttosto usatela come ipotetico disco di backup o come memoria secondaria ma di sicuro non come memoria principale. Se cercate la "velocità" qui non la troverete sappiatelo (ovvio confronto un HDD è veloce anche una lumaca, però si sta parlando di SSD contro SSD) quindi non lamentatevi se poi il PC risponde diversamente da quello che pensavate. Quindi il prodotto per funzionare funziona, per configurarsi si configura assolutamente senza problemi, per l'affidabilità nel tempo so già (anche se non ho dati alla mano) che prima o poi mi mollerà, o meglio, la probabilità che mi molli prima di un Samsung PRO, EVO, Crucial MX ecc è sicuramente maggiore. Quindi, detto ciò e per lo scopo che ha per me questo disco è un ottimo acquisto, una buona soluzione di risparmio di denaro per una memoria ed un perfetto compromesso tra utilità, qualità e prezzo. Lo promuovo? Si, almeno per ora si, vediamo come si comporterà nel tempo, ma per ora sono soddisfatto.

SCARSA QUALITÁ

Costa poco ed è ovviamente di scarsa qualità, l'ho provata a montare nel mio pc fisso dove di ssd così ce ne sono altre 2 installate ma non si riesce neanche a rilevare come nuovo dispositivo connesso e quindi non si riesce a formattare per poterla utilizzare. Ho anche una doc-station esterna apposta per ogni tipo di disco esterno dagli HDD alle SSD e questa è l'unica che non va, rimborso immediato. Quando dal prezzo si capiscono molte cose....
Consiglio: spendete 10/15/20 euro in più e compratevi delle ssd serie tipo le samsung, le western digital, le kingston oppure le sandisk: sicure, affidabili nel tempo, veloci e non vi lasceranno mai a piedi.

I bought this 'no name' drive on a lightning deal, fearing that it might not meet the speeds of similar drives from the likes of Samsung. Despite being only 2/3 of the price, it completely smoked them and way outperforms my palit SSD drive (even....and perhaps especially) on a sustained write 60s test (the test that cheap drives often fall down on)

Overlook the Brand name and buy!!

As an IT expert of 25 years I have to say these drives are fantastic. Do not be put off by the name.. These drives are as good as twice the price branded drives.

This is my second drive purchase from TCSUNBOW which have breathed a new lease of life in to my kids laptops!

Benchmark results on the 480 is actually better than my main system Samsung 860 Evo SSD drive!

Go ahead.. Ignore the lesser brand name and buy these drives - excellent quality, speed, reliability.

I'll be buying the 1tb version for my main system very soon 👍

I got 6 of these for my servers, 1 was returned the next day & 4 others broke within 2 days

Unfortunately, I got 6 of these, i had to return 1 immediately as it didn't work even after trying them on 3 machines. But the others did work at the start, however 2 days passed and i switch on the servers and 4 of them were causing problems and eventually, even after trying them on various computers, they also failed. I have 1 working SSD from this brand now, but I'm so put off and worried it will die on me in the middle of some busy work project, that I have decided to even remove that one also right away. Waste of money and time, it's unfortunate, i can't return these anymore as i've chucked the boxes out already - But what i can do is Not recommend them to anyone and will not buy again!

A bit of a dud - risky purchase - benchmarks attached

Bought a couple of weeks ago on a lightning deal.
Installed last night.
Transfering from drive to drive was SLOW (2mbps)

I installed a couple of games to it... And they just wouldn't load.

Restarted and tried and tried... Eventually left it alone and it finally started to boot the game after 10-20 mins and never completed. I crashed it after 30

Considering the game in question is overwatch and usually loads in seconds drive is definitely a dud.

Tested other games from blizzard and epic games... Same results.

Will update if the replacement is any better.

EDIT: There was no option to replace, so I got in contact with amazon tech support.. who said they would email me some instructions and call me back in 20 minutes... that was two hours ago, not even an email.

In the meantime I have changed sata port and cable to see if that would make any difference, and have rerun my benchmark tests.

The issue seems to be with small files/multiple files. It can't seem to take it - so when booting a game it might have to reference many small files, and the speeds are just awful.

From the benchmarks comparing to my 3.5 year old SSD you can see a clear difference in performance.

I am disappointed both in the drive and amazon tech support.

Great for gaming & not much else

I have purchased the 2TB option, install was easy. Windows had to split the drive into 2 partitions of 1tb each.
This is mostly used for gaming as a 2nd drive on my laptop. The read speeds are perfect (hence the title), loading times in games are significantly faster than what they were while using a HDD.
HOWEVER
when transferring data across from the HDD to this SDD the write speed can be atrocious, im talking 5mbps.
on occasion this does 500+mbps but can instantly bottle neck and drop down 5mbps for minutes.
IF that is not an issue for you than this drive is perfect.
How long this will last- i have no idea. for the price its a livable trade off as i still have storage in my NVME drive.
