Sinossi

"Absolutely amazing! LOVE LOVE LOVE...In my opinion, I feel that A.L. Jackson is the female version of Nicholas Sparks." Taryn, My Secret Romance

There are some mistakes we make that we will regret for the rest of our lives. For Christian, it was the day he betrayed Elizabeth.

Christian Davison has a plan for his life. He is determined to become an attorney and to one day take his place as partner in his father’s law firm. Nothing will stand in his way, not even Elizabeth Ayers and their unborn child.

After Christian cuts her from his life, Elizabeth spends the next five years struggling to provide for her daughter and willing to sacrifice anything to give her child a safe, comfortable life. For five years, Christian has regretted the day he walked away from his family and will do anything to win them back just as Elizabeth will do anything to protect her daughter from the certain heartache she believes Christian will bring upon them.

When Christian wrestles his way into their lives, Elizabeth is faced with asking herself if it is possible to forgive someone when they’ve committed the unforgivable and if it is possible to find a love after it has been buried in years of hate.

Or are there some wounds that go so deep they can never heal? They say everyone deserves a second chance.

"I cried, I laughed, this book touched my heart and I will never forget this story <3
It was an absolutely beautiful read that is definitely going on my favorites shelf!

L'autore

A.L. Jackson first found a love for writing during her days as a young mother and college student. She filled the journals she carried with short stories and poems used as an emotional outlet for the difficulties and joys she found in day-to-day life. Years later, she shared a short story she’d been working on with her two closest friends and, with their encouragement, this story became her first full length novel. A.L. now spends her days writing in Southern Arizona where she lives with her husband and three beautiful children. Her favorite pastime is spending time with the ones she loves.

. . OMFG, è Take This Regret della Jackson *•* con tanto di cover nuova realizzata da Regina Wamba di Mae I Design and Photography *-* #muoro! Thank you so much, Eli ♥

Crack. Così, all'inizio del libro.

1.0 su 5 stelle Unless you are a teen, don't waste your time. 12 agosto 2015

I was hoping for a fun, good verbal fighting/bantering, smart book since this was supposed to be about lawyers after all. Personally I'd like to know the age range of the people who give reviews. For a teen with little to no actual life experiences yet I could see rating this higher, as an adult I really don't see how this could be rated above a 3.
Reasons why I did not like this book:
1) Even though they tried to do the duel perspective, it was one thought and one narrative throughout. There was no distinction between how she thought and how he thought. VERY VERY BORING.
2) The woman's name is Elizabeth yet her daughter is Lizzie, VERY CONFUSING TO READ!
3) The on and on and on and on internal dialog and referencing how each one thought with very little actual dialog or interaction with others was just awful. WAY too many scene descriptors and not enough actual movement in the story. It was choppy, after you see her perspective then you'd see his of the same thing, too much overlap.
4) This story line was weak, predicable and immature.
5) This really had nothing to do with lawyers. And if they were actual lawyers they aren't very good ones since neither of them can come up with a simple plan of action and execute it without drowning on in their internal dialog.
6) Characters really have no build up, they are boxed in and none are remarkable.

I won't be reading be the rest of this series.

4.0 su 5 stelle Some things are unforgivable - or are they? 6 agosto 2016
Di Sandra Hoover - Pubblicato su Amazon.com

What a beautiful yet painful story to read. So much anger and hurt held inside for 5 years festering and growing in a woman, Elizabeth, who could not or would not forgive the man who had wronged her so badly. A foolish young man, Christian, who, in a spur of the moment decision, makes the wrong choice and is forced to live with his regrets and without the woman he loves for 5 years and beyond. A beautiful little girl, Lizzie, so full of joy and innocence with love to give everyone including the daddy who gave her up. This is a poignant love story that makes you feel like you're riding on a runaway train with no way to get off. When it crashes, it almost destroys them all. Christian has so many regrets and is losing hope of ever being forgiven, as Elizabeth has hardened her heart filled with the fear that he will leave her again. This is a story of love & loss, betrayals that are unforgivable, regrets that threaten to drown them in their sorrow, trust that is destroyed in such a way that it may never allow love to grow again in her broken heart. Sometimes when two people are in love, the pain they cause each other is too overwhelming and shattering to get past...to ever allow themselves to trust again. Take This Regret will stir emotions deep inside you and make you pray for this couple to find their way back to each other...even knowing this will be a near impossible feat.

The downside for me is that the angst in this story went on for a little too long. It began to be a little too much for me to accept as Elizabeth withheld her forgiveness from Christian over and over again. She almost lost all my sympathy as I began to feel like she was punishing him more than anything else. I gave this book 4 hearts as I enjoyed the alternating POV between H/h, allowing us to hear both character's thoughts and feel their anguish and genuine emotions. The emotional turmoil is real and beautifully written for both characters. If the turning point in this story had come sooner, it would have been a 5 star read for me.

In July 2016, I listened to Lost to You, and after the abrupt ending I decided I needed to know what happened between Christian and Elizabeth. Take This Regret was set 5 years into the future, as Christian started a new job at his father's firm, heading up a new office in San Diego. It was another pleasant listen as Andi Arndt narrated the story, she depicted both characters perfectly, and was so easy to listen to.

I liked seeing the change in Christian, he had grown a lot over the years and I could see that he regretted his decision all those years ago. I liked seeing him build a connection with his child once they met, and how much he wanted the child to be part of his life.

Elizabeth was wary about Christian coming back into her life. She had suffered a lot after Christian’s ultimatum. It was good to see that she had support around her and was still close with Matt. I could understand why she was hesitant and was very protective of her heart.

Take This Regret was told at a steady pace, and I was able to see both characters as they tried to show that they were better people. Elizabeth was determined to keep Christian at arms length, but allowed him to develop a relationship with their child. I could see that Christian never stopped loving Elizabeth, despite the years they were apart. He had a better relationship with his mother, but the relationship with his father was still strained.

I enjoyed most of the story, experiencing a lot of the hard times Christian and Elizabeth had to face. There was a moment toward the end of the book that made me a little angry and I didn't agree with how Elizabeth handled the situation. She was very selfish and mean, and had no right to blow up like she did. She was now an adult and a parent, and should've handle the situation better than how she did. After I got past this moment, the story wrapped up nicely and I was happy how it all tied up. I know that there's another book in the series, but I think I'm happy with how this one ended and leave it at that.

I enjoyed the first book in this series even though I don't normally read YA books. I was disappointed in the ending finding the H to turn out a jerk.
In this 2nd book the h , who I felt was a strong character, went weak and indecisive. Yes she had reason to be angry with the H but make up your mind already. All this backwards and forward was annoying. What I really didn't like eas the internal dialogue going on. You get both POVs and every thought is repeated over and over. I flicked through pages and pages just to move along. I hate it when there is very little dialogue in a book and this book had hardly any. I AM SO SORRY I have already bought the third book and wish I could get a refund but I accidentally opened it and so that isn't possible. This would only be my 2nd refund ever , I normally just bite the bullet and suffer the loss but I am sick and tired of authors dragging their books out into a series where the story could be a fantastic hea standalone novel. We all work hard for our money and don't appreciate getting fooled into spending it. I will definitely from now on download a sample and go from there. I can guarantee that I would NOT have bought this book or the next one had I sampled it.

5.0 su 5 stelle Simply....a wonderful story of redemption and love...... 11 novembre 2012

I thoroughly enjoyed this book for what it is: pure escapism-entertainment. The characters are written in a depth that really makes the reader FEEL for them. I especially liked Elisabeth for the strong woman she'd become since being rejected by Christian. I liked Christian as well. At first...not so much for what he did but we readers KNEW right away that he'd regret what he did for a lifetime. There were times I wanted to shake Elisabeth for not believing that Christian loved her and wouldn't leave her again.....and yet.....we readers understood why she was so afraid to give Christian her heart, and trust. Then you throw in the beautiful little Lizzie who becomes the light of her Daddy's eyes, and it's a heartwarming story of family, friends, and how love can be earned anew. There is lots of angst in this story! When the ending comes it's well worth having been on the roller-coaster ride that these characters (and we readers) have been through.

I loved it. I would read it again...and I will do so down the road. Recommended highly. Great drama.

NOTE added February 25, 2013: I bought the prequel to this "Lost To You" - which came out after this book. Reading how Christian and Elizabeth started out really helped me understand Christian better - his upbringing (mainly his poor demanding father). Of course....having read how they met and the beginning of their romance lead me into reading this book (Take This Regret) again - such hardship and I truly adore this book. It's a keeper........
