Sinossi

This is a true story based on actual events that occurred in 2012 on a ranch in Central Texas. I am not a scientist and I am not an expert. I am a regular, ordinary person who had the amazing privilege of seeing and hearing these creatures as they came almost weekly to visit our house. This book in no way is meant to be scientific. It is purely a description and an explanation of our experiences. There are volumes and volumes of books dedicated to scientific research on the subject of Bigfoot/Sasquatch. This book is solely my attempt at taking you on a one year journey into our lives as we discovered who was living in our backyard. So read on and join me in my first year of terror, excitement, and joy at discovering who was living in my backyard in the 100 acre woods on a ranch in central Texas.

Thank you so much for reading my book. I hope you enjoyed what you read. If you did, please write an honest review. I would greatly appreciate the feedback. I read them and take them seriously. I am currently working on the second book. I am also writing a series of short stories. Someone commented on questions left unanswered, so I plan to expand on many of the experiences we had that were not in the first book. Hind sight is 20/20. I wrote the first book within six months of completing the first year, so the information is fresh and I am still learning and coming up with my own conclusions. Most books that have been written on this subject were written based on eye witness testimony from thirty years ago. So, you are literally on this journey with me. Thanks to modern technology, this is a living breathing document. I plan to respond to the readers needs and desires for more information.

So, please, feel free to share. Remember, for a while there I thought I was on my own. It helps me to realize there are more people who believe than who do not believe. Check out my Author Page. I provided pictures of the pond and lake in the fog. Oooh looks eerie! I also provided a picture of the Baby Bigfoot Footprint. There is also a picture of an apple that was bitten into. Yes, I tried to gift back. I did receive something in return, but you will have to wait till I publish that book. No, I did not provide an Author's picture. Much like the elusive creature, I don't want my picture taken either. Besides, the book is about the ranch, not me. So, I provided pictures of the ranch. Enjoy!!
Thanks once again for reading and enjoying my book and going with me on this journey!
Till we read again!!
Susan Sullivan

1.0 su 5 stelle just too difficult to get through 10 gennaio 2017

I really wanted to love this book. Heck,I would've settled for like! It's not about whether or not I believe in Bigfoot, but rather how this book is so horribly written! I just can't believe the author is college educated nor can I believe she held public office. Typos I get- here and there, not throughout the entire book. And what's up with her lack of contractions?! I don't recall many, if any, contractions. No, contractions shouldn't be used in FORMAL writing, but this is more or less her journal entries! I'm just sayin', the lack of contractions make for for a difficult read.
Author's writing style, or lack thereof, aside, is/was she "terrified" or was she friendly with her supposed backyard guests? She went back and forth so much, I just stayed confused.
Like I said, I was looking forward to a light, fun read but was sorely disappointed.

I was very skeptical when I got this book. Honestly, I've never been a big bigfoot believer. I always thought that they *might* exist, but that it was pretty unlikely. This book offers a really unique perspective since its not just about an individual citing, but the experiences of a family living in an area that bigfoots live in. Each family member approaches what's happening to them differently as do other people living in the same area. It's really a one-of-a-kind book, both informative and suspenseful.

this is the same review as the one i did for the companion book.
When I opened this book I got the sinking feeling that I had made a big mistake. The print was very large and the text double spaced. That is often what happens when an author does not have enough to say to make a real book. But this author had enough to say, and if you have a genuine interest in Bigfoot, it is something you should read.
Many of us saw TV programs of Bigfoot, and of other things mysterious, and got used to nothing ever being settled and no compelling evidence being found when people who are basically actors tromp into the woods with 1000 pounds of electronic gadgets and think no huge hairy man would notice they did that and are waiting to see if they can get ‘proof’ he exists.
The real experts on Bigfoot are housewives with kids and dogs and often people who got an amazing bargain buying a house right next to a big forest. I always thought that I don’t make a great neighbor, so I live on 10 acres in the middle of open desert. But Susan Sullivan would have loved to have me as her neighbor when she discovered who was really living next door to her.
Later, I thing she may have sort of liked that it was Bigfoot. I just ordered her follow up books.

5.0 su 5 stelle Exceptional first-hand account of sharing land with Bigfoots. 20 aprile 2014

If you are looking for a fascinating page-turner about a first-hand witness experience with Sasquatch, this book will make your day. The author struck me immediately as humble, accountable, honest, and rational, which made the information and story more accessible. Her tone was consistent throughout, and she was entirely transparent about how the events affected and struck her at the time they happened.

If I had one criticism, it's that I wish the book had been edited more carefully. The author's account is exceptional, and her writing "voice" is so consistent and down-to-earth. I've spent far too much of my life with academics; when something many would consider to be "out there" is written about but poorly edited, it's less likely to be taken seriously. It stands to reason that Ms. Sullivan's book SHOULD be taken seriously, which is why I bother to mention it. I spend a large amount of time editing papers for student writers, so if I can be of any future assistance, please reach out. Otherwise, well done and thank you for your honesty and humility.
4.0 su 5 stelle Texas Bigfoot makes a quid pro quo agreement with a Postmodern Squatcher Newbie 17 marzo 2014

Texas Bigfoot looks good on the website, and it's a nice story, but it has some blemishes. The author and her family are looking for a new house to rent that is big enough for their family. She is a certified teacher and her husband is a professional who travels for work a great deal. They go house hunting and finally they stumble upon a listing, but the rental price is continually slashed until it seems too good to be true. It is. The last tenants left without giving notice thus forfeiting their deposit et al largely because of a 1,000 pound animal going bump on the roof in the middle fo the night and other incidents. The author and her family jump at the chance to rent this house because it was one they had looked at but at that time it had been way out of their price range. Suddenly, the house is now well within their price range and oddly available on short notice. The hairs should have been standing on the backs of their necks, but they ignored it.

Moving day comes and goes and the then they hear the unknown visitor on the roof. It and other unexplainable incidents leads the author to search for answers and finally she comes to the conclusion that it is Bigfoot. The author is initially excited to be living with Bigfoot, but she and her family are terrified though respectfully so, and they do not go out during set hours. They seem to have an unspoken agreement that the Bigfoot family has their way at night but the author's family have the daytime. The printing is in a larger than usual font thus the book in terms of real textual numbers of words is not as long as is described on the website. Towards the end of the book, the author explains that she has taught her daughter to respect life, and that her purpose in writing the book is to expose the myth that Bigfoot is a monster, yet she and her family bunker down at night unless it is really necessary.

The author's message is simple and clear. In her experience, Bigfoot is not a monster or killer. Bigfoot is a very intelligent ape-like giant who just wants to live. If you leave Bigfoot alone, it will leave you alone in an interesting quid pro quo of sorts. However, as I mentioned earlier, the author and her family do not go out on the rental property at night because they are afraid of the Bigfoot family.

I liked the story. I wish more of the Bigfoot genre were like this. I did not like the editing and the formatting including the size of the font used in printing the book, which makes the book longer in term of pages than it really is. If this book were to be printed with a common size font, it would probably turn out to be not much longer in term of page numbers than Haunted Valley, another Bigfoot book, by William Jevning. This makes me wonder whether the author tried to stretch the story out by using a slightly larger font in order to raise the price because now the book has more pages. Those white pages are expensive, you know.

However, with all that said, the author's voice is a pleasant one. She writes like she is a nice person and responsible. She said she was a substitute school teacher at the time of writing, so who can really blame her for trying to make a little money. this book is not going to definitively answer what Bigfoot is or isn't, but it is a pleasant and down to earth read.
