She is my own personal challenge.
She has the potential to make me weak at a time when I’m determined to show everyone just how bloody strong I am.
Yet somehow, she doesn’t see me as broken.
She sees me as the man I’m fighting so hard to be.
The man that I’m still struggling to see myself.

5.0 su 5 stelle You'll never be prepared for all the feels this book has in store for you. 14 aprile 2016

I had to let this book stew in my brain and heart for a while before I could write my review. I never thought that I would be saying this but this is a subject that is close to me. I am not going into specifics because it is to painful but someone very close to me is dealing with suicidal thoughts and feelings. It's someone I never would have suspected in a million years. You think you know a person inside and out and then the unthinkable happens. That's the premise for this book.

Hayden Clarke experiences a tragic family accident and can't get over it. He knows he's the family screw up and is trying to prevent any more opportunities to prove to everyone that he deserves that title. Vi Harris had an unforgettable run-in with Hayden but is trying to steer clear of him and his moody self. She can't get a read on him and after learning his secrets isn't sure she should get involved with him at this point in his life. She may not even be in a place herself because her 5 brothers don't like any of her choices of men anyway.

This book has so many feels that you won't be prepared for reading it no matter how much you think you will be. You say to yourself that you're not going to cry or you're not going to cry that much but then, yeah, Amy Daws does her thing. She is adept at making the reader cry. This one is no exception. I can't share the one quote that did my heart in because I feel like it might be a spoiler. But, if you want to know, you can always email me and I'd be happy to tell you.

Also, don't think that this whole book is nothing but a downer or cry fest. There are some great lighthearted moments in here courtesy of Vi's brothers, various friends, and her dog. If you haven't read any of Amy's books you definitely don't want to miss out on reading them but I probably wouldn't suggest starting with this one because it will probably ruin you for her other ones. You need to start with some of her other ones first. Trust me. I've read them all. I've watched her grow from writing a memoir to her first romance to having written over 5 books and co-authored books. The transformation has been amazing and it's been a great thing to experience. You'll want to experience that too.
5.0 su 5 stelle I love everything about this book 12 aprile 2016

London has been on my bucket list for a very long time. It wasn't until I met the works of her majesty, Amy Daws, that I've bumped it up on the travel bucket list.

I love everything about this book. I love that we finally get to read about Hayden's heartbreaking story about survival, guilt, loss and love. Hayden is everything and more. Amy's attention to detail from how he thinks, reacts, his nuances, it was all so clear and perfect. I had moments of snot crying, moments of swoon, moments of wanting to scream at Hayden, moments of laughter and moments of pure happiness.

Vi. This girl. I can't tell you how much I adore her. It takes a special person to love someone that's broken or thinks that they are. She was so strong and so perfect for Hayden in every single way imaginable. She herself was at odds with her insecurities, her brothers, her loss, yet was there unconditionally for Hayden.

Secondary characters, I don't like that word for Amy or any book now for that matter. They're all characters, you know? We're introduced to Vi's sexy, funny, and mysterious footballing brothers who are fiercely protective of her. We see another side of Hayden and Leslie and lest we forget Mr. Frank and Beans, the funniest, no nonsense ginger you'll ever meet.

Of the entire series, this one is hands down my absolute favorite. I couldn't and didn't want to pick up another book for what seemed like weeks. It was that heart-wrenchingly beautiful.

Oh this book had me book line and sinker from the beginning. Hayden is a broken man that didn't think he was capable of loving. Vi was tired of rejection and felt she couldn't be loved. It's more than love when these two are in a room is combustible. There are so many struggles that people deal with on a daily basis and no one would ever know looking from the outside. Don't hesitate to jump into this book I promise it will keep you turning the pages.

5.0 su 5 stelle Hayden made my ovaries explode in girlie glee! 13 aprile 2016

That One Moment is the second book in the Lost in London Series. This is a standalone but I personally loved the first book, Not The One, and I would recommend reading it just because it’s excellent. It is told from Hayden and Vi’s POV. Several familiar faces from her London Lovers Series grace the pages, especially Theo and Leslie. The story starts up about few weeks after the last chapter of Not the One ends.

I think the way that Daws has Hayden tell his story is bloody brilliant. It shows his courage and his determination to stay well in a unique way I have not read yet. The story is refreshing and fun as it tugs at your heart.

I love Hayden Clarke. He’s charming, fun and playful. He’s the best uncle! At one moment, I thought my ovaries were going to explode with girlie glee. He’s also still hurting. He’s fighting himself and his past. He has made so much progress with the help of his family and Leslie. He’s s put up these walls and is scared anything could send him back into the dark.

Vilma, Vi, Harris is genuine and motherly. While she has had sadness in her past, she has a very loving family. She has 4 sexy huge football (soccer) playing brothers are very over protective of her. Vi and her dog Bruce run straight into Hayden and into his life. Could she possibly break through Hayden’s walls?

The one reason I loved this story so much is because their relationship naturally. Vi and Hayden’s relationship evolves naturally over time. They are adorable together. It’s one step forward with 2 steps back. They have to work at their HEA. I think it makes this story so much sweeter. 5 shining stars.

5.0 su 5 stelle Oh My Hayden 13 aprile 2016

I have been waiting for Hayden's HEA since meeting this beautiful broken man in Not the One. Daws did not disappoint even if she made me cry, she also has the ability to make me smile like a loon at some of the Harris brothers antics.

Hayden how do I even begin, he sees himself as damaged, broken and not worthy of anyones love, especially Vi. This beautiful broken man has gone though a lot. His life hasn't been easy, blaming himself for his sisters death and going through a down spiral until he attempts the unthinkable to make the guilt go away. We get to see his journey of self healing and the way Vi plays a vital part in that. When you share the darkest part of you with someone you hardly know the connection that is formed is incredible when that person doesn't see the same damaged man you see in the mirror. Vi is everything I saw for Hayden's HEA and more. She is a spirited, strong female that only sees Hayden as Hayden not the broken man he think he is.

I loved every minutes of this even when i was sobbing like a baby, laughing like a loom and angry as all can get at times. I think Daws takes pleasure in making her readers cry and if she keeps writing like this I will gladly give her my tears. Just give me more of the Harris brothers and no one will get hurt. Read Hayden's story its one of self healing that shows you even if you can't see the best in yourself other will see the greatness that makes you, well you.
