4.0 su 5 stelle " It was no longer about cars and fun, it was becoming kind of violent and strange 7 febbraio 2016
Di Byron Crump - Pubblicato su Amazon.com
Formato: Copertina flessibile Acquisto verificato
I spent quite a bit of time cruising Forest Lane in my 69 GTO Judge and working off Royal Lane in the years leading right up to when this case happened. I was in college at what was then called NTSU (UNT) when news of this mystery broke. The whole scene was changing and dying, and this was one of the last nails in the coffin for the Forest Lane "era." It was no longer about cars and fun, it was becoming kind of violent and strange. This book is a haunting snap shot of a lost time in Dallas history and a in depth look at a case I hope it is solved someday! Mystery people and DFW people really need to check this one out.

5.0 su 5 stelle Takes me back to high school 23 novembre 2015
Di laura - Pubblicato su Amazon.com

I was in the same graduating class at Newman Smith as Susan and Stacey so this book was just something I had to read. Susan was in several classes with me and I have always remembered and questioned where they are and what happened. The writing style is a little lacking and the book needs a good editor but it is informative and really, the only important thing here is that the police are given more opportunity to solve this missing persons, probably double homicide.

5.0 su 5 stelle Simple Non fiction with a very important purpose. 13 gennaio 2010
Di Anne Rice - Pubblicato su Amazon.com
Formato: Copertina flessibile Acquisto verificato
This is a simple non fiction book. The writing is not sophisticated, and it is "self published." One can read it in about an hour's time. I am reviewing the book because I think its author has taken on a very important job here, and that he has done his utmost to accomplish his purpose. He wants to draw our attention to the disappearance over twenty years ago of two bright, attractive young girls in the greater Dallas area. --- The author explains what happened, the very few clues that police and family have to what might explain the disappearance of the girls, and he asks that the girls not be forgotten. --- I devoutly hope this book will ignite greater interest in the case, and that more investigation might result. We get a poignant picture here of what family and friends have suffered. ---- I have a special interest in the case, perhaps, because I graduated from Richardson High in the Dallas area, and later went to college in Denton, to the school one of the young women was planning to attend. I'm familiar with Dallas life and surburban life described in the book and the good hearted people who live in that part of Texas. I remain connected to it through relatives and friends. --- But even without this connection, I would care. As Americans, we should care about every single person who is reported missing, whether or not they are presumed dead, and we should make a concerted effort to find out what happened or is happening to such people. --- Our television entertainment shows (Law and Order or Criminal Intent)focus on fantastical crimes and big city homicide; but every day in our country people from all walks of life go missing, and we should be as concerned with them as we are with the fictional killers of prime time. I will be checking the Facebook page of Stacie Madison and Susan Smalley regularly in the hopes of new developments. --- Added comment: I hope this author and his story do receive some interest from New York publishing. A commercial house might suggest many things, restructuring, including additional information about the divide between the fantasy world of CSI and small town investigating, etc. or more coverage of other missing persons cases, etc. But the story here is a compelling one, and the author's dedication is inspiring.

2.0 su 5 stelle Not much information 12 dicembre 2014
Di Auntie Annie - Pubblicato su Amazon.com
Formato: Copertina flessibile Acquisto verificato
This book is rather poorly organized, and the author inserts himself into the narrative far too often. There are many interviews with classmates, many of whom claim to be dear friends of either Stacie or Susan. The book is further padded with numerous photographs: at least four of the parking lot where their car was found, even more of the Arby's on Forest Lane which has little relevance to the case. In addition he included several baby pictures of the girls--which, while earning sympathy, were also irrelevant. If all of that was removed the 154 page book might be half as long. The name of the person of most interest to the police is redacted. I know little more of the case than I did before I read the book.

5.0 su 5 stelle Written by a friend that only cares about solving the crime. 18 maggio 2014

The guy that wrote this I have gotten to know. He is only writing it for the power to solve this crime. Upstanding writer and a really good book. I had to buy a second since i took so many notes in the first one.
