Suzy’s a control freak and has her life mapped out - work hard, find a man with a stable job, and live happily ever after. She’s content with the status quo, but her plan comes to a screeching halt when he enters her life and turns it upside down.

City gave up on love when his heart was crushed in college, preferring to be the typical bachelor. He spends his nights hopping from one bed to another and his days working at his family tattoo shop, Inked. A chance encounter on a dark road makes him question what he had sworn off forever – a relationship.

A night of passion and lust causes them to question everything. Is City the knight in shining armor to the damsel in distress? Can their relationship survive when a fantasy falls apart and a secret comes out that changes everything?

This is a quick steamy read.
City is an amazing guy and I hope to find someone hot like him here in Italy soon.
I want to read all the Gallo's stories as soon as possible.

2.0 su 5 stelle Just so awful 13 agosto 2016
Di T. Childress - Pubblicato su

Several times as I tried to trudge through this story I had to remind myself that these characters are supposed to be adults. Nearly 30 actually. I still wonder if the author is an adult.
It seems like her idea of adulthood and the mentality and dialogue that
go with that are borrowed from a bad teen made for tv movie.
Things that were beyond annoying:
- Perfect Suzy is of course a bombshell. All the guys want her. And yet she's never managed to have even a semi satisfactory sexual experience?
- Apparently they live in Rapeville as Suzy is mauled and attacked by multiple men. But only when City was handy for rescue of course.
- The dialogue is painful. I have a test when I think it's odd or awkward. I say it aloud. Just try that with any line in this and you'll feel completely ridiculous. Seriously, two grown women who constantly call each other 'whore?' What do you think this is, Mean Girls?
- All of the relationships are completely juvenile. The emotional development of the characters seem to have ceased in high school.
- I could forgive some of that if the sexual content was good enough. I prefer smut with a good story but I can deal with just good smut. Unfortunately the author hasn't mastered the art of show instead of tell. Suzy was quick to talk about how amazing City was in the sack. But the descriptions were of pretty standard stuff. Just with a guy who thinks phrases such as 'balls deep' in regular conversation is sexy.
- Seriously, do these two ever have a conversation that doesn't include sex? And if that was deliberate, then unfortunately the result was decidedly unsexy and at times nearly painful.

I did not, or rather could not, finish this. I gave it a good go, getting to about the 80% mark but then the eye rolling became almost constant so I had to abandon the effort.

1.0 su 5 stelle The story sucks - and not in a good way 4 novembre 2015

I realized going in, that this was an 'adult' book. No problem with that, I just found it to be boring.

I skipped ahead to the last two chapters, and don't feel like I missed anything.

I've downloaded another book by this author, but I'm going to delete it. Too many good books out there to waste my time on this dreck.

3.0 su 5 stelle Excuse me, but . . . where is the rest of the book? 2 marzo 2015

***** SPOILER ALERT *****
This book has all the potential of being a five-star review. Unfortunately, the author evidently decided to just end the book with no real resolution to the story & no indication that the story continues in Book Two.

I like both characters, although the secondary character Mom's constant nagging about grandchildren is a bit wearying. But the end just leaves the story flat & unfinished. Engagement? She's expecting it, but it's no dice. The big reveal is that all the Gallo children are independently wealthy & running the tattoo parlor is something to occupy their time. So Jake, rather than open his wallet & put a nice ring on Suzy's finger, gives her the business card of a real estate person to help her find or build a dream home for them. But Jake's not committing to a "them" after all. So where does that leave her? Twisting slowly in the wind.

All good stories have a beginning, a middle & an end. Too bad this read only scores two out of three.

5.0 su 5 stelle 1-click for hot, keep reading for the wonderful story! 12 aprile 2014

There was so much hype everywhere in the blogger world about this book so I absolutely could not wait to get my hands on it. I was so excited to receive a copy for review! Let me just tell you - Chelle Bliss DID NOT disappoint! I was so throttled with City! Not to mention, look at that gorgeous cover. This is one of those books you one-click because of the hotness, but keep reading because of how genuinely great the book is!

Suzy was such a character - I absolutely loved her innocence and how completely opposite of City that she was. The fact that she was self-proclaimed OCD with her lists always left me cracking up because that is so me! Whenever they joked about her innocence or her checklist, I saw so much of myself in her, which just made me appreciate the book even more. She wasn't just a character in a book; she was a friend who I could completely relate to. I also loved seeing her transformation throughout the book. It was a slow process that I don't think she even fully realized it was happening. It gave such a genuine feel to this character.

And oh, City, City, City! He was so masculine and alpha and dominating. He could push Suzy's buttons, but he always knew her limits. This intuitiveness is just every girl's dream. He was instantly protective of Suzy and it only grew. This is one of my favorite qualities in a male character so I instantly fell in love and swooned hardcore. I also appreciated the mystery that surrounded him. Chelle writes his character in a way that you always know there is something more to him, but never feeling like you're missing out. It's definitely a gift she has to walk that line successfully.

Furthermore, these characters together just worked for me. They exhibited real insecurities and emotions. The fact that they were complete and total opposites just had me rooting even harder for them as a couple, especially when they couldn't see it themselves. The secondary characters in the book had me desiring more of their stories as well. As soon as I finished the book, I had to figure out which character we'd get more of. The dynamic between the members of the Gallo family, as well as between Suzy with Sophia and Kayden just left me wondering what the back story for each and every one of them is (hint, hint Chelle!).

The plot was also pretty intriguing. It wasn't a lot of rollercoaster drama or angst, but it was the perfect amount to keep you on your toes but not think it's overly dramatic. Furthermore, the line of events just seemed so realistic. There was never an occurrence where I had to roll my eyes and think "enough already!", which I absolutely appreciated! It was fear and feelings I that I expected to see in these characters given their personalities. Overall, I would definitely recommend this to fellow readers! It's holy hot and steamy with the perfect amount of dramatics; a quick read you're bound to love!

3.0 su 5 stelle a sweet and clean cut math teacher with a bit of ... 2 marzo 2015
Di Christy Baldwin BBU - Pubblicato su

A sexy tattoo artist who rides a motorcycle, a sweet and clean cut math teacher with a bit of a dirty side thats just dying to come out. That sums up City (or Joey as I prefer to call him) and Suzy Sunshine.

Their story starts with Suzy stranded on the side of the road. Her car is broken down and her best friend isn’t answering the phone. Along comes a biker named City to save the day/ City helps Suzy get her car fixed and offers to get her home safe and sound. These two couldn’t be more opposite if they tried, but they hit it off.

I liked the premise of this story. I’m a sucker for the bad boy with a good heart and the good girl who’s not all that good. I really loved Joey’s character. He made the book for me. He was alpha, sexy, but also had a sweet side. And the guy who narrated him in the audiobook had the best accent. He was just so fun to listen to. Now Suzy… Suzy’s judgmental side really bothered me. When it came to Joey, she seemed to jump to conclusions and perceive the worst. She got over her misconceptions fairly quickly but I was still irked by her.

Throttle Me was a nice start to the Men of Inked series. I did like the characters and the story was enjoyable. I just wanted more. I wish there was a little more to the story. When I get time I’ll definitely give the second book a go. Especially now that I see it’s City’s younger brother Mikey’s book! I liked him a lot in this one :)
