5.0 su 5 stelle Cute Costume 30 settembre 2016

I bought this for my train loving son. It does look cute on him but is baggier than I would like. He just turned 4 and is big for his age. I was worried about ordering this because I read some reviews that said the hat was too small. The hat that came with mine has elastic in the back and will be plenty big for any childs head which makes me think they must of updated the costume. I thought the walkie talkie did not work but it just did not come with batteries. It is a nice addition to the play factor and makes train sounds at a very low volume (thank goodness!).

5.0 su 5 stelle Good quality and would last for years! 19 maggio 2015

I got this train engineer costume for my petite 6 year old son. He absolutely loves it!!! The apron or bib is roomy and probably fits him many more years. It doesn't look sloppy big, just has enough room to grow. For sizing, I think it would fit regular size 7 year old kid. All the accessories are well made. Only thing to complain is the walky talky needs a 9 V battery. I just wished it could use AAA or AA batteries. The walky talky has train sound that is not too loud. He wore it for his school's career day, but I plan for him to use for Halloween, possibly in many more years. Good investment...

1.0 su 5 stelle Broken radio 29 dicembre 2016

The radio didn't work. Even if the radio had worked, I didn't think this product was worth the price charged. You get two cheap plastic tools and a plastic schedule. I augmented the outfit with a paper punch and spiral tablet as play tickets that could be punched. I added a little flashlight and a whistle on a lanyard, and put in some real Amtrak schedules. Without my additions this would not have been much fun, especially with the broken radio. Melissa and Doug's products have been declining in quality in the past year or so, in my opinion.

3.0 su 5 stelle Fun for Playing Trains--Very Loud Walkie-Talkie 18 gennaio 2015
Di PinkBird - Pubblicato su

My train-loving toddler loves this thing, but I only gave it 3 stars for a few reasons, first, the first set we received was broken/torn, luckily amazon accepted it back right away and we were able to get a refund and order a new one. Second, the hat seems pretty small. I have a 3 year old and he won't wear the hat because it is too tight, and he has an average sized head. Next, the walkie-talkie is SUPER LOUD and has no volume control, and the walkie-talkie plays train sounds, which doesn't make much sense to me. Finally, there are no directions as to what type of pens will work best on the tickets so we don't actually write on those when we play.

I do like that it is washable (or so it says, I haven't washed it yet) and my child loves it, so that's what matters.
4.0 su 5 stelle Chugga Chugga Woo Woo 3 gennaio 2015

This set is very well made of high quality fabric with and child tough stitching. The velcro fasteners make it easy to put on and take off. Although the tools are plastic, they are still functional. The walkie talkie requires a battery in order to work. It lights up, and says something unintelligible and has a siren sound. Might be better suited for a police role play suit than a train engineer. The name tag and train schedule are plastic coated and appear to be for dry erase markers.
My five year old grandson thought it was great and he wore it when we took him on his first real train ride. I would recommend the Melissa and Doug role playing outfits to parents and grandparents as they feed a young child's imagination and serve to open up numerous educational opportunities to involve children in something besides video games or TV.
