While I am not usually a big fan of short stories, this collection is both varied and intertesting. Very well crafted stories of varied length and setting that all demonstrate the inner resoluteness of the main character. An enjoyable set of readings!

HASH(0x9bac857c) su 5 stelle Best little short story collection I've read in some time. 24 agosto 2004
Di Jennifer Lawson - Pubblicato su Amazon.com

I came upon this book doing a search on Amazon.com for unique writers not published by large publishing houses. I love reading these types of works sometimes and have discovered many gifted writers this way.

DH Henry did a wonderful job with this book. I was struck, amazed and enjoyed the book incredibly. I own a book cafe in Tijuana, Mexico and I read many unconventionally published books. This one hit home for me. The stories made me home sick for the U.S. The mystery stories captivated me and held me to the very last sentence. Each story had a thread of style that only DH Henry can weave through his work. A gift. A spunk and sparkle to the subjects that keep the reader eager to read on.

I would highly recommend this book to anyone who loves a good book of short stories. The copy I have in my cafe is on loan and people are asking about it. I may end up ordering more for our English readers.

What intrigued me as a writer is the fact that DH Henry once belonged to the same writer's group I do...yet they appear to have tried to discredit this gifted author the way they do anyone there with talent. I learned this when I asked about the book. That gave his work even more incentive for me. When writers try to censor another writer, then I'm curious. DH Henry proved why they were so willing to censor his work. He's that gifted. That appears to be the mark of talent among writers. Give us a great book and we try to downplay it out of jealousy. Well DH Henry...I'm jealous but you are good.
