I didn’t realise this was a historical novel when I bought it. I don’t generally buy historical novels, but this had me hooked from the beginning . Stuart was a true hero, and Grey was magnificent. Thank you for s wonderful tale.

So Many Problems With This Story....

This is a writer that later becomes better about telling a passible story. One star is too many for this book. It contains a huge defect.

Maya Banks in; Until Midnight, shows little or no regard for how people solve problems and HAVE TO answer to the dictates in their worlds. She has far too many meaningless honorable mentions or subplot starts. A major through line subplot, let's call it subplot B-
subplot B
Everyone is trying to harm you and steal your locket and you have been told how important the locket is. You find that thing that others want, that thing they are trying to harm you to get but finding it is not very important. You just push it to the side. You don't really care about what's in it or finding the answer it holds.

Her treatment of plot is very iffy. What is a story but a backdrop to a great plot? The use of plot is too much and many. Most of her plotlines are undeveloped or just dropped and ignored because of this you already know before you reach the end of the book you are not going to be satisfied.

It not all bad. Her syntax is great. Her sentence lengths and word uses is very comfortable. But alas- Her storytelling is only good until it is not. When it not, it is awful.

This book caught my attention right at the beginning. I fell in love with all the characters, they were so real to me. The story was a mix of romance and mystery. This book probably should be read by adults due to its sexual content but it was not too over the top. I enjoyed it very much and I will be referring friends to read it.

I have read many of books written by Maya and can honestly say that I enjoy reading every single one! This book just like all the others draws your attention from the very beginning, so many emotions in each of her books that I've ever read. Such a great author! She makes me smile, laugh, cry and just completely draws me in to each of her stories, even as I shed tears through some of the chapters, I know there will be a happy ending! I wasn't sure I would like these books as well since they are based from many years ago but I absolutely love them! On to the next journey 💕

This book is full of ridiculous dialogue, sentence fragments, and disjointed scenes, and the author's word choices are awkward at best. After struggling through 1/3 of the book I had to quit reading it. This author goes on my "do not read again" list.
