Questo nas della WD fa tutto quello che ci si dovrebbe aspettare da un Cloud casalingo.
Come disco di rete funziona egregiamente,molto silenzioso . la velocità di trasferimento dati con dispositivi connessi con cavo ethernet è ragguardevole, meno bene per quelli connessi con wifi ma credo che in questo caso le cause siano imputabili al mio vecchio router.
Il My cloud è progettato per non spegnersi mai, ma va soltanto in stand-by dopo un certo tempo quando non è usato da nessun dispositivo, manca quindi un pulsante fisico accensione/spegnimento , operazione che si può fare soltanto tramite browser (meglio evitare di staccare il cavo di alimentazione).
Come disco Cloud da remoto funziona egregiamente, è facile da configurare, accessibile molto facilmente anche con connessione 3g da smatphone e tablet tramite l' applicazione dedicata, i propri file foto e documenti sono quindi disponibili da ogni luogo.
Con 3 TB a disposizione lo spazio di archiviazione è davvero importante. Consigliabile secondo me accoppiarlo a un hd di uguale capienza da collegare tramite la porta usb e creare una sorta di disco ridondante, il prodotto è di qualità ma ... meglio non rischiare .
Servizio Amazon velocissimo nella spedizione e confezionamento oggetto.
Mi ritengo pienamente soddisfatto.

Ho comprato questa NAS allettato dal basso prezzo e dalle caratteristiche. E, in generale, sono soddisfatto. Il prodotto è molto bello esteticamente, e funziona bene. Può risultare un po' macchinosa la configurazione, ma è super accettabile, visto che settare una NAS, prima, era incomparabilmente PIU' complicato...
Notevole la feature che collega l'hard disk a un account WD: in questo modo, anche senza un IP fisso (e chi ce l'ha?!) la NAS resta accessibile sempre anche da remoto, anche se salta la corrente (è per questo che non ha il tasto ON-OFF. Se salta la corrente e siete in vacanza chi entra in casa a riaccendere il cloud? Così si riaccende da solo!) o il router cambia gli IP.
Ottimo anche l'accesso da mobile, con la sua bella app.
Ma veniamo ai lati negativi: il software di trasferimenti files è un po' lento e macchinoso e non ha un "cerca" (e 4 tera sono tanti da sfogliare). Fortunatamente dalla LAN domestica si può usare il finder standard di PC o Mac. Ma da fuori casa no...
E' leggermente rumoroso (io ce l'ho in camera, oltre al disco che gira in modo non silenziosissimo ha una ventolina) e va in standby a mio parere troppo raramente. Non so che attività in background compia, ma mi spaventa un po' la durata del disco, se sta acceso tantissime ore al giorno. Ma essendo un prodotto nuovo questo non lo sa nessuno...
Riassumendo: a questo prezzo e con queste features a mio parere è imbattibile, per un uso non professionale. Speriamo sia solido..!

Backup da Time Machine in Wifi

Che dire, effettuare i backup su hd usb è comodissimo, ma non si fa sempre, non si fa in continuazione. Si rompe l'hd del mac oggi mentre lavori, si blocca e si riavvia senza che tu puoi fare nulla. Stavi modificando una foto che ti aveva preso circa 2 ore di tempo, nel frattempo avevi salvato dei preferiti nel browser che ti servivano, avevi caricato delle foto in iPhoto dal tuo iPhone per liberare un pò di spazio. Bene si pensa, ho il backup fatto, per fortuna, ieri. ERRATO. Cosa stavo facendo quando si è rotto, dove sono le foto che avevo tolto dall'iphone per liberare spazio e quali sono... Probabilmente perse e senza ricordati cosa hai perso, un pensiero che ti affliggerà per molto tempo, te ne devi fare una ragione non puoi farci niente. Ti prometti, però, che rifarai i backup ma molto più precisi. Non è vero, non si fa mai, il mio mac lo uso senza il caricabatterie perché la sua batteria dura 10 ore e quindi il problema dei backup si ripresenta. Con questo HD 4TB il pensiero sparisce, fa tutto solo, o meglio OSX con TimeMachine fa tutto solo, basta essere in wifi. Accesso da remoto ai file che volevi fossero lì, ma preferisco DropBox e simili. Le mie recensioni non sono basate sul prodotto, perché esso è già recensito parecchie volte ed infatti il Wd My Cloud è fantastico, perfetto, funzionale, facile e completo, forse da migliorare il software di gestione per qualche difetto nelle impostazioni, tu le setti e loro non funzionano, soft reset le risolve, drastico ma funzionale, tanto time machine neanche se ne accorge e i dati non si muovono. Le mie recensioni spero servono a spiegare perché un prodotto può divenire indispensabile, e il Wd My Cloud è uno di questi. A presto.

il prodotto offre veramente servizi ottimi con un prezzo ultra ragionevole... molto intuitiva la web ui permette in un attimo di gestire tutti gli utenti sia per quanto riguarda permessi che accessi remoti .... ottima la gestione della parte server multimediale e per i possessori di mac os la funzione time machine.....la velocità di trasferimento e elevatissima per la fascia di prodotto, in rete cablata con cavi schermati , per quanto riguarda la wifi sia hanno notevoli cali di velocità in scrittura ribadisco scrittura perchè lo streaming video e la copia anche di MKV da 30 gb dal nas al pc non perde un colpo e ha picchi di 90 e passa mb/s ..... non capisco appunto la perdita di velocita wifi anche perche utilizzo wifi ac e linea gibabit wifi ... altre cosa migliorabile sarebbe la possibilita di vedere direttamente dall interfaccia web cosa risiede e dove all interno e la possibilità di modificare tramite remoto le impostazioni due peculiarità quelle elencate risolvibili facilmente in un aggiornamento firmware

Packaging classique chez WD mais toujours aussi classe et efficace.

Mise en place de la connectique très simple, mise en place logicielle c'est autre chose. Étant non novice en informatique j'ai tout de même un peu galérer à m'y retrouver, notice très simpliste je pense que ça ne couterait rien de l'étoffer.

L'interface web est bien organisée et on apprend vite à l'utiliser.
Niveau service c'est très limité, surement sûr au fait de la puissance disponible non suffisante. Exemple : no comptez pas mettre un serveur plex (ce n'est même pas proposé de base).
Donc l'utilisation sera vraiment basée sur du stockage, mais si vous avez un serveur plex sur Rasp ou une Nvidia Shield TV ça marche très bien !

L'accès cloud marche bien, l'appli sur Android fonctionne.

L'accès DNLA fonctionne très bien. Testé avec une télé 4k aucun problème.
De plus depuis l'interface vous pouvez choisir si votre contenu peut être vu sur DNLA. De même vous pouvez restreindre l'accès à un dossier parent avec un mdp.

Mode veille très pratique, dommage que l'on ne peut pas régler le temps avant déclenchement.
Un petit effort sur les consommations en veille svp ? :)

Niveau débits, penez à utiliser un réseau câblé gigabit de bout en bout, et attention à la catégorie de vos câbles (6a OK) ! Donc si vous avez toutes les conditions réunies, vous aurez environ 100Mo/s en écriture, très confortable. En lecture je n'ai pas vraiment testé, mais aucun problème sur de la grosse lecture multimédia (4K).

Vous pouvez connecter n'importe quel disque dur sur le port USB et le rendre disponible sur votre réseau, c'est génial. Je n'ai pas testé s'il était possible d'utiliser un hub USB où l'on brancherait plusieurs disques.

Niveau bruit c'est très silencieux.
Niveau chauffe c'est maitrisé, env 30° en veille, constaté env 43° en utilisation

Fonctionnalités de synchronisation non utilisées pour ma part, je ne fait que du stockage.

Au final vous avez un très bon rapport qualité prix sur la version 1 baie 4To si vous avez une bonne remise

Decidimos comprar este My Cloud para centralizar los varios discos duros portátiles que teníamos en casa y así ahorrar también espacio. Se puede acceder a él a través de un ordenador, de la App de móvil (Android e iOS), de Chromecast (perfecto para ver películas sin tener que encender el ordenador) o de Xbox One, gracias al DLNA.

Como copia de seguridad funciona perfectamente, ya que contínuamente está actualizando los documentos que vamos añadiendo o modifcando en el ordenador. La App para móvil permite incluso hacer un Backup de las fotos realizadas desde la última actualización en febrero de 2015.

Recomendamos hacer la primera copia de seguridad o pasar archivos de gran tamaño conectando el MyCloud con el cable USB directamente al ordenador, como se recomienda en el manual de instrucciones. De todas formas la velocidad via WiFi es bastante elevada (aunque en nuestro caso, tenemos fibra óptica de 50Mb/s).

El aparato es relativamente pequeño, muy silencioso y no se calienta apenas (aunque se puede ver la temperatura a través del panel de control del ordenador. Este panel también tiene otras varias opciones más como seleccionar quién tiene acceso al Cloud, las opciones de compartir, el espacio disponible/utilizado u otras configuraciones. Por cierto, todo bastante sencillo de utilizar.

El precio a través de Amazon es el más baratopara este producto respecto a las tiendas físicas que habíamos visitado, y con Premium no pagamos nada de gastos de envío.

En resumen, una manera segura, cómoda y eficaz de tener un backup del ordenador y guardar archivos en 3TB de memoria, de momento más que suficientes para nosotros.

Simple to use, works easily on BT HomeHub

I hesitated in buying this. In fact, I hesitated for more than a year! The reviews, both on here and on other websites, are so polarised, that it is difficult to know which of the two camps you will be lucky enough to fall into after purchase. I felt as though I was flipping a coin. Would I be a lucky 5 star customer, or a frustrated 1 star? However, after a bit of research lately I discovered that Western Digital released a firmware update at the beginning of this month that appeared to fix everybody's problems, so I bit the bullet and bought the 4TB version of the WD My Cloud.

The product came well packaged but with few instructions: only a 'quick setup' guide which consists of a few pictures on an A4 sheet of paper, and a guide on how to achieve fast transfer rates, presumably because of complaints on here and in their own forum, which essentially tells you to use a network cable rather than wifi if you're transferring a large amount of data and want it to go more quickly. Fair enough.

Setting it up was as simple as plugging it in and connecting a network cable between it and my router. I installed the software on my PC and, with just the press of a single button, it automatically updated the firmware to the most recent. Very, very simple. After that, I chose 'map network drive' on my PC and it found my cloud immediately. I started transferring data.

One of the complaints that have generated 1 star reviews has been the slow transfer rate. Some reviewers have claimed transfer rates as low as 10kb/s, taking them several months to transfer their entire library. I honestly can't fathom why this would be, unless they are using a very, very poor wifi connection through several walls and with a slow connection speed. In which case, I would recommend to those people, and anybody who might connect their computer, games console, etc., via wifi to consider investing in homeplugs. That will resolve any issue you have with speed. But I want to make clear, the transfer rates that people complaining about is a fault with their network and internet provider, not with the WD My Cloud. When transferring from my computer to my cloud, I have speeds of never less than 10mb/s. That is 2 times faster than my (albeit outdated) USB connection. That's a 1.5Gb movie in just over 2 minutes. I transferred 500Gb of movies, music and photos in one evening.

Which leads me to the other complains that 1 star reviewers are giving - that of the drive freezing up or becoming undetectable after transferring lots of data. The firmware update described above seems to have fixed all of those problems. Mine is working faultlessly, and the consensus on the WD forums appears to be that this issue is now resolved following the update. This firmware update is extremely easy to apply. The are two ways you can do it. After installing the bundled software onto your computer, press on 'update firmware' and it will do so automatically. Alternatively, download the app onto your iPad, iPhone or other device (android, etc.) and, in the app, select 'update firmware'. It really is that simple. It will download something for 3 or 4 minutes then tell you it is done. And there you go, all problems fixed.

Another issue that people have had are connecting to their drives from the outside. My drive is in the UK and I am currently in Amsterdam having watched a movie on my iPad straight from my cloud. I am using a BT HomeHub 5. I've had no problems with it. It has all been very straightforward.

As well as using the apps or the bundled software, the drive is accessible from DLNA devices as long as they are connected to the internet via either wifi or network cable. I have a Samsung smart TV, connected to my network via homeplugs. I simply press the 'source' button on my remote and, near the bottom, 'WD My Cloud' appears alongside the likes of 'HDMI1' and 'TV'. I then just use the arrow buttons on the remote to navigate the hard drive, and stream music, movies, TV shows, videos and pictures faultlessly. Very simple.

Connecting via the app on your mobile device is straightforward, but you will be asked to register an account on the WD website first: it takes 2 minutes. Once you have done that, you just login to that account on the app and, from then on, your drive will appear in the App along with all of your files. Some files, such as .avi, will not be able to be played directly through the app, but you can just download those files directly to your device and play them through a free media player such as VLC (which I use and recommend). It's very easy.

I would highly recommend the WD My Cloud. It is only about £20 more expensive than an equivalent normal external hard drive but gives you so many more features. I've said it a few times in this review, so I might as well say it again: it is simple. It really is so easy to setup and use. You will be going in about 10 minutes from when you open the box. You can connect to it from anywhere in the world using any number of devices and even connect another, normal, hard drive to it which then adds that hard drive to your cloud, making both accessible anywhere. It is plug and play, with fast transfer speeds and a good level of stability.

Gutes Gerät, ABER: unbedingt FW-Update durchführen

UPDATE 4:

Seit 29.01.2014 gibt es eine neue Firmware mit der Versionsnummer v03.03.02-165, die weitere Probleme lösen soll. Ansonsten gibt es nichts negatives über die My Cloud zu berichten. Seit dem Update auf v03.03.01-156 arbeitet sie nun ca. drei Wochen zuverlässig. Probleme mit dem Standby-Modus oder Verluste der Netzwerkverbindung gab es keine mehr.

UPDATE 3:

Ich denke ich kann mittlerweile einen Abschlussbericht liefern, der durchaus positiv ist. Die unten beschriebenen Änderungen an meiner FRITZ!Box habe ich mittlerweile alle rückgängig gemacht, ohne dass dies negative Auswirkungen hatte. Daher tippe ich wirklich auf das Firmware-Update als Ursache der Lösung.

Die Festplatte arbeitet seit dem gestrigen Firmware-Update auf v03.03.01-156 genau so wie ich das erwarte. Das heißt:
- Sie ist jetzt übers Netzwerk dauerhaft ansprechbar (Netzwerkfreigaben und Webinterface), also kein sporadisches Trennen der Netzwerkverbindung mehr
- Sie geht nach einigen Minuten ohne Zugriff in den Standby-Modus und
- Sie wacht sehr schnell aus dem Standby-Modus wieder auf

So habe ich mir das Gerät vorgestellt und da es jetzt alle meine Erwartungen erfüllt kann ich auch 5 Sterne vergeben. Der Ärger am Anfang bleibt, hätte ich nicht gerade Urlaub, hätte ich das Gerät auch schon längst zurückgeschickt anstatt so viel Zeit zu investieren. Aber ich bin nicht nachtragend.

Ich rate daher jedem Käufer UMGEHEND nach der Inbetriebnahme das Firmware-Update v03.03.01-156 (oder eben zukünftig höher) zu installieren. Ich habe danach sicherheitshalber noch einmal die Systemeinstellungen zurückgesetzt. So erspart man sich Ärger und Frust.

Der Fairness halber möchte ich auch darauf hinweisen, dass Western Digital das Produkt offensichtlich gut pflegt. Das detaillierte Changelogs zu Firmware-Updates bereitgestellt werden ist heutzutage keine Selbstverständlichkeit mehr. Hier verhält sich Western Digital wirklich vorbildlich. Sorgen, dass der Support bald eingestellt wird, und ein fehlerbehaftetes Gerät übrig bleibt, scheinen unbegründet.

UPDATE 2:

Ich denke ich weiß jetzt, warum das Gerät auf einmal so zuverlässig arbeitet. Heute wurde, ohne das ich das sofort gemerkt habe, ein Firmware-Update (v03.03.01-156) installiert.

Unter anderem steht folgendes in den Release Notes:
- Resolved issue of drives randomly losing connection to the network.

Mich würde es nicht wundern, wenn sie auch die Standby-Probleme behoben haben. Ich beobachte weiter. Wenn sich an der momentanen Zuverlässigkeit nichts ändert gebe ich dem Teil 5 Sterne.

UPDATE 1:

Das Gerät geht jetzt zuverlässig in den Standby-Modus und wacht wieder auf. Ich habe folgendes gemacht:
- Alle LAN-Kabel von der FRITZ!Box entfernt, abgesehen von der My Cloud
- Automatische Firmware-Updates bei der My Cloud deaktiviert
- IPv6 bei der FRITZ!Box deaktiviert
- Einmal den Ethernet-Port der FRITZ!Box auf 100 MBit/s gestellt und dann wieder auf 1 Gbit/s

Nach dem letzten Schritt dauerte es nicht lange bis die blaue LED anfing zu pulsieren. Das Gerät war wirklich im Standby-Modus.

Ich erhöhe bis auf weiteres die Bewertung auf 4 Sterne und beobachte weiter. 5 Sterne möchte ich noch nicht geben, da ich jetzt ziemlich viel Ärger mit dem Teil hatte bis es endlich funktionierte. Ich traue der Sache noch nicht.

Bisher haben ich als NAS an meiner FRITZ!Box 7360 eine 3,5"-Festplatte von WD betrieben. Diese Konfiguration funktionierte seit Jahren sowohl als Netzwerkspeicher, als auch als DLNA-Medienserver sehr zuverlässig. In der FRITZ!Box ließ sich konfigurieren, nach welcher Zeit ohne Zugriff die Festplatte in den Standby-Modus versetzt werden soll. Das hat immer zuverlässig geklappt. Einziges Manko an dieser Konfiguration: Die Geschwindigkeit. Mehr als 3 MB/s waren mit NTFS einfach nicht zu machen. Es musste also ein Gerät her, das mindestens die gleichen Funktionen beherrscht, aber schneller ist.

Nach einiger Recherche wurde ich auf die WD My Cloud aufmerksam.

Gleich vorweg: Die zahlreichen negativen Rezensionen hatte ich vorher gelesen. Ich wollte aber irgendwie nicht glauben, dass die Probleme so schwerwiegend sind!

Nach dem Auspacken war ich zunächst von der hochwertigen Verarbeitung des Gerätes angetan. Auch die Inbetriebnahme gestaltet sich als sehr einfach. Die Weboberfläche ist sehr übersichtlich und funktioniert mit einem aktuellen Browser auch zuverlässig. Kurz nach dem Hochfahren wurde mir sogleich ein Firmwareupdate angeboten, das ich auch gleich installieren ließ. Sehr gut. Dann kann ja nichts mehr schief gehen. Ich befüllte also meine Festplatte mit Daten, was einige Stunden dauerte. Die durschnittliche Übertragungsrate lag über Gigabit-LAN bei 35 MB/s. Etwas weniger als erwartet, aber damit kann man leben. In einigen Rezensionen ist die Rede von deutlich geringeren Geschwindigkeiten. Das kann ich nicht bestätigen. Vermutliche wurde hier per WLAN auf die Festplatte kopiert. Damit schaffe ich natürlich auch nicht mehr als 8 MB/s. Dafür kann aber die WD My Cloud nichts.

Nach Abschluss der ganzen Vorgänge kam dann der spannende Moment. Schaltet das Gerät in den Standby-Modus oder nicht? Nein. Tut es nicht. Möglicherweise läuft noch die Indizierung für den DLNA-Server oder Vorschaubilder werden erstellt oder sonst irgend ein Prozess. Also wartete ich bis zum nächsten Morgen, etwa 12 Stunden. Noch bevor ich irgend ein Gerät im Netzwerk hochgefahren habe stellt ich fest, dass das Gerät immer noch mit voller Power lief. Die LED leuchtet blau, die Festplatt läuft hörbar. Dafür ist das Gerät nun nicht mehr im Netzwerk sichtbar und auch die Weboberfläche nicht erreichbar. Aufgehängt? Offensichtlich! Nach einem Neustart dauerte es dann erst mal eine Stunde bis das Gerät wieder ansprechbar war, in der Weboberfläche heißt es "Gerät wird initialisiert". Das Gerät läuft wieder für mehrere Stunden. Die Festplatte läuft mit, allerdings finden keine Zugriffe darauf statt. Ich kann deshalb eigentlich ausschließen, dass noch Prozesse arbeiten. Das Gerät denkt aber überhaupt nicht daran sich schlafen zu legen.

Und so setzt sich das eigentlich fort. Ich werde es jetzt kurz machen.
- Das Gerät wechselt, genau wie in anderen Rezensionen beschrieben, NIEMALS in den Standby-Modus. Ich habe wirklich alles mögliche Versucht. Mittlerweile sind sogar so ziemlich alle Dienste deaktiviert, die das Gerät auszeichnen.
- Dafür trennt es regelmäßig die Netzwerkverbindung. Nur ein Neustart kann das Gerät dann wieder in Gang setzen.
- Obwohl Gerät im Netzwerk nicht mehr ansprechbar ist, erwärmt es sich spürbar.
- Während Dateien auf das Gerät kopiert werden ist es offensichtlich so stark ausgelastet, dass die Weboberfläche nur noch träge oder gar nicht mehr reagiert.
- Die WD Support-Foren sind gefüllt mit solchen Problemen. In keinem einzigen Fall gibt es eine Reaktion. Dafür tritt der Support hier in den Kommentaren mit 08/15-Ratschlägen auf, die kaum hilfreich sind.

Auf so einem Gerät möchte man wichtige Daten ablegen. Dafür ist es gedacht. Diesem Gerät vertraue ich meine Daten sicher nicht an. Komfort ist gleich Null, da ich das Gerät mindestens ein mal am Tag neu starten muss, weil es die Netzwerkverbindung trennt. Weil das Gerät nie in den Standby-Modus wechselt ist der Energieverbrauch unnötig hoch. Auch die Langlebigkeit der Festplatte muss angesichts dieser Tatsache infrage gestellt werden.

Wer mehr über das Problem und die Kompetenz des WD-Supports lernen will möge bitte eine Google-Suche mit den Begriffen "wd my cloud standby" starten.

Angesichts der zahlreichen 5-Sterne-Rezensionen bin ich schon etwas ratlos. Die müssen ein anderes Gerät bekommen haben. Ich hätte dem Gerät auch gerne 5 Sterne gegeben. Aber was soll ich denn mit einem Netzwerkspeicher anfangen, der nie in den Standby-Modus wechselt und ein mal am Tag neu gestartet werden muss? Dabei "initialisiert" das Gerät dann auch noch immer mehr oder weniger lang, sodass ich teils ewig warten muss, bis ich Zugriff auf meine Daten bekomme. So einen Schmarren habe ich wirklich selten gesehen!

Ich werde nun noch folgendes versuchen: Um sicherzstellen, dass nicht irgend ein Prozess auf dem Gerät selbst den Standby-Modus verhindert, setze ich das Gerät komplett auf Werkseinstellungen zurück, sodass die Festplatte komplett leer ist. Wenn das Gerät dann immer noch nicht in den Standby-Modus geht war es das. Ich berichte morgen.

Buen funcionamiento, pero tarda en conectar.

En primer lugar, decir que el disco duro lo compramos para compartir y almacenar archivos que empleamos en nuestro trabajo de diseño gráfico, en lugar de optar por almacenamiento tipo dropbox, ya que casi todo lo hacemos en red local y no queríamos complicarnos la vida.
Decir que las tasas de lectura y escritura en red local son bastante buenas, pero no es así en cuanto te conectas a el a través de la plataforma web. De hecho, funciona mejor la app móvil que concectarte al disco duro a través de la web. en ocasiones esta da fallos de conexión, y tarda un rato en volver a conectar con el.
En nuestra experiencia podemos decir, que para trabajos en red local, y tener un seguro en la red por si estás fuera de la oficina y necesitas algún archivo, cumple holgadamente con las expectativas.
En cuanto a las funciones de nube y app, no lo valoramos tan positivamente, pues se cuelga bastante a menudo. lo que si podemos destacar es la sencillez de configuración y de funcionamiento de las App, aunque se hecha de menos algunas funciones.
De cara a su uso para compartir multimedia, o conectarse a través de una smarttv por ejemplo, no podemos valorarlo.
En resumen, por el precio que lo compramos ha sido una buena compra para el uso que le estamos dando, pero creemos que hay mejores opciones en el mercado.
