L'ho comprato per la mia nikon d3100, forse sbaglio qualche cosa io, ma secondo me non è proprio compatibile con la mia reflex, in pratica lo posso usare solo con diaframma alla massima apertura, come provo a spostare il diaframma mi da errore

Non buono come il 12mm f2.8 FF, è meno luminoso, "focus confirmation light" non precisa spesso lampeggiante (nel mio esemplare Nikon), ottimo dettaglio a centro immagine, prezzo molto conveniente.

Given most photographers aren't going to be using a fisheye every day, shelling out the (currently) £1050 for the Canon EF 8-15mm lens is not really going to be a viable option for most people. On the other hand, a fisheye lens is always a fun thing to have available in the right circumstances, so at little more than a quarter of the price of the Canon you should rightly be tempted to snap up one of these.

Why is it so cheap? Well, firstly it's made in South Korea, not Japan. Secondly, unlike the Canon it's a prime lens. And most crucially, it's entirely manual - there are no electrics, no image stabilisation, no autofocus, you even have to set the aperture on the lens. This does have some drawbacks - no information from or about the lens gets into the exif data and it's impossible to focus through the viewfinder when everything is so small. But the wider the lens, the greater the depth of field, and for most purposes you can just set the aperture to f8 and the focus about halfway between 1.5m and infinity and be confident that everything will be in focus. Just make sure that doesn't include your feet, knees, middle-aged spread or tripod if you're shooting portrait format ...

It's worth pointing out what I didn't notice immediately about this lens - or originally include in this review - which is that despite both the product name here on Amazon and the sticker on the box in which it was packaged, this lens (or at least the one I received) has an EF mount, not an EF-S mount. So it will fit on all Canon DSLRs, not just the cropped-sensor ones - useful to know if you plan to upgrade to a full-frame camera. What isn't clear is whether there actually IS a version of this lens (under any of Samyang's various brand names) with an EF-S mount - my guess would be not but if buying this for a full-frame camera I'd be wary and look for one that specified as much. This does mean that you will not get the classic fish-eye round image on a cropped sensor camera - I can't speak for whether this is possible on a full-frame camera as I am using this on an EOS 500, however it is possible to remove the fitted lens hood if necessary. On a cropped-sensor camera, if you point it close to horizontally, it's almost an ultra-wide angle; the fisheye distortion is much more pronounced if you point it above or below the horizontal. The extremely bulbous front element precludes the use of filters.

The only real downsides I've found so far are that the camera struggles to get the exposure right in low light - it tends to overexpose quite severely - and sharp contrasts can generate some pretty severe purple fringing towards the corners of the frame. But the former can be dealt with in manual with a bit of trial and error, and the latter in processing - though not with Canon's own Digital Photo Professional which needs exif data to deal with chromatic aberrations. However, neither is anywhere near a deal-breaker. There also isn't much to grab hold of between the focussing ring and the aperture ring for when you're fitting or removing the lens - you actually have to hold the lens cap, always remembering to do this HORIZONTALLY or from under the lens to avoid the risk of dropping the lens out of the cap, which shouldn't be relied upon to bear the whole weight of the lens, although it actually locks into 2 grooves on the inside of the the (very firmly anchored) lens hood pretty securely and doesn't rotate on the lens; note that the lens cap does not fit if the lens hood is removed.

If you've always wanted to use a fisheye but were daunted by the price, or even if you hadn't even realised you needed a fisheye, this unexpectedly excellent bit of glass is a great buy and great fun to use.

PS: a quick note about brands - this lens and others in the same series seem to be available under several different brands - Samyang (the parent company), Opteka etc. The prices vary a bit so it's worth checking around to see which is cheapest currently; the product is identical even where they sometimes quote a different focal length - some say 7 or 6.5mm.

Ich habe das 8mm Fischauge für meine Nikon im DX-Format gekauft, obwohl ich bereits ein Samyang/Neewer/.. 8mm der ersten Generation hatte. Mit dem neuen Objektiv von Walser mit "AE-Chip" weiß die Kamera endlich welche Linse verwendet wird, plus EXIF-Daten und ist nicht nur im M-Modus verwendbar. Das Objektiv muss dafür lt. Anweisung der Kamera auf die kleinste Blende gestellt werden und muss dort auch bleiben. Dann kann die Kamera aber den Rest (Belichtung) erledigen. Der Autofokus bleibt weiterhin dem Fotografen überlassen, ist aber gerade bei dem enormen Weitwinkel wegen der großen Tiefenschärfe kein Problem. Einfach irgenwas Richtung unendlich wählen und ab zum Fotografieren. Im Vergleich zum breits vorhandenen Samyang/Neewer/.. 8mm der ersten Generation ist der Bildausschnitt etwas größer, die Linse aber etwas kompakter.
Das einzig Negative was mir bis jetzt aufgefallen ist, wenn man eine starke Lichtquelle im Bild hat bekommt diese offenblendig (f3.5) einen Art Heiligenschein und man muss auf Blend 5 abblenden und dann ist dieser verschwunden. Auch das "alten" Objektiv war über etwas abblenden dankbar, konnte aber nur vollkommen manuell bedient werden und auch die Blende konnte nicht in 1/3 Schritten verstellt werden.
Somit ist das ein guter Kompromiss und meiner Meinung nach sein Geld absolut wert und Walser ist ein toller Verkäufer der schnell versendet und wo alles einen guten Eindruck macht!

Gute Leistung für kleines Geld

Vorab: Das Objektiv wird an einer Canon APS-C Kamera genutzt. Es füllt somit den kompletten Sensor aus (keine schwarzen Ränder). An einer Vollformat-Kamera mutiert es dann zu einem Zirkular-FIsheye und zeigt nur einen runden Bildauschnitt mit schwarzem Rand - dann muss auch die Gegenlichtblende abgenommen werden, damit es zu keiner Abschattung kommt. Bei der hier verkauften Version "II" ist die GeLi abnehmbar und muss nicht wie beim Vorgänger bei Bedarf abgesägt werden.

Leistung:
Es bleibt dazu eigentlich nicht viel zu sagen: Ich habe das Objektiv "just for fun" für Städtetrips und für interessante Aufnahmen gekauft. Das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis ist top (daher auch die 5 Sterne!): Wenn man nicht die Erwartungshaltung hat, bei Offenblende ein 100% scharfes Ergebnis zu erhalten, wird man mit diesem Objektiv glücklich. Ich mache meine Aufnahmen mit der Linse gewöhnlich bei Blende 8 - dann ist es wirklich knackscharf.

Blende und Fokus müssen bei diesem Objektiv manuell eingestellt werden. Bei AV-Einstellung erledigt die Kamera auf Wunsch dann trotzdem alles weitere. Für den Fokus ist eine Entfernungsmarkierung vorhanden - selbst für Einsteiger ist das aber problemlos: Fotographiert man im Nahbereich, kann das abgeschätzt werden, bei Entfernungen über einige Meter wird eh gegen unendlich fokussiert. Durch die Brennweite und die Blende ist der Bereich der Tiefenschärfe dabei aber immer (nah und fern) so groß, dass eigentlich (schärfetechnisch) keine Aufnahme misslingt.

Für den Einstieg in die Fotographie mit Fischauge ist das Objektiv daher bestens geeignet. Natürlich ist das originale Canon-Objektiv nicht vergleichbar: Es bietet deutliche Mehrleistung und auch einen Zoom - kostet dabei aber das 6-7 fache. Da man meiner Meinung nach mit einem Fish-Eye tendenziell sowieso eher sehr bewusst fotographiert, ist bspw, der Zoom-Vorteil für mich zu vernachlässigen.

Manko wäre für mich höchstens der etwas "kurze" Bauform: Mir gelingt es nur selten, das Objektiv an der Kamera zu (de-)montieren, ohne den Blendenring zu verstellen, zu eng sind alle Funktionen am Objektiv zusammen und zu wenig feste Grifffläche ist vorhanden. Vielleicht habe ich dafür aber auch einfach zu dicke Finger... das aber nur als Anregung für den Ingenieur für die nächste Version.

Der Blickwinkel dieses Objektivs am APS-C ist übrigens wirklich faszinierend. Bei den ersten Gehversuchen sollte man vor allem darauf achten, seine Schuhe nicht mit abzubilden - außer man möchte das. Ist man nicht alleine unterwegs (die Freundin muss mit?), kommen auch sehr interessante Effekte zustande, weil umstehende nicht damit rechnen, schon fast auf Höhe des Fotographen mit auf dem Bild zu sein.

Schöne Bilder mit dem Fischey und einer Sony SLT A58

Hallo. Nun habe ich mir auch ein Fisheye Objektiv mit einer Festbrennweite von 8mm zugelegt. Ich muss vorher erwähnen, dass ich zwar kein Anfänger mehr bin, aber dennoch mehr so die üblichen Aufnahmen erstellt habe. Mit dem Fisheye von Walimex erhoffe ich mir, doch das Fotografieren mehr zu meinem Hobby zu machen. Ich besitze ein Sony SLT A58, eine solide Kamera nicht nur für den Einsteiger. Die Aufnahmen, die ich schon am ersten Tag mit dem Fisheye gemacht habe, lassen auf noch mehr großartige Bilder hoffen. Zum Objektiv, es macht einen soliden Eindruck, es gibt ein kleines Objektivsäckchen dabei, dass wie ich informiert wurde, zu jedem Walimex mitgeliefert wird. Auch das, macht einen soliden Eindruck und schützt das Objektiv vor Beschädigung. Das Objektiv hat eine Festbrennweite von 8 mm und einen Blendenbereich von 3.5 bis 22. Blende 8 nehme ich für die meisten Aufnahmen. Das Objektiv hat keinen Autofokus, das kann man aber bei dieser Festbrennweite vernachlässigen. Bei der Schärfe muss bei einem solchen Objektiv nicht so aufgepasst werden, wie bei einem normalen Objektiv. Im Freien habe ich eh immer auf unendlich gestellt. In Räumen verwende ich 0,7, passt immer. Das manuelle Einstellen der Blende hat man schnell raus. Einfach ausprobieren oder sich Tipps im Internet holen. Das Objektiv entspricht genau meinen Erwartungen, man quasi einen Blick von 180 Grad, einfach klasse und für das Geld nicht zu übertreffen. Wer also schon immer mit einem Fisheye geliebäugelt hat und Geld sparen will oder muss, der sollte sich dieses Objektiv kaufen. Eine ganz klare Kaufempfehlung. Das Teil macht richtig Spaß. Bei Autofokus habe ich natürlich 5Sterne gegeben, hat ja auch keinen. Wie soll man das dann auch bewerten, ohne es negativ zu beeinflussen. Ach ja, es ist zu empfehlen bei der Sony SLT A58 auf MF zu stellen. Ein paar Bilder habe ich hier angefügt, es folgen bald mehr.
