It was a bad idea from the beginning.

He was my brother's best friend and the definition of unavailable.

But I didn't care.

I had loved him for as long as I could remember.

He was worth the risk. He was worth everything.

But then he broke my heart as easily as I fell for him. He watched me fall, spiraling out of control, and as I reached for him, he wasn't there to catch me.

So I ran.

Four years later, I never expected to see him again.

He was still my brother's best friend, and he was more unavailable than ever.

He looked every bit the bad boy I knew he was, covered in tattoos and a crooked smile.

Guarding my heart from him was top priority because Parker James was where good girls go to die.

Unfortunately for him, I wasn't a good girl anymore.

5.0 su 5 stelle Totally unexpected! One of the best reads of 2017 16 aprile 2017

This is my first read of Holly Renee's and it definitely will not be my last. Where Good Girls Go To Die was a story that had my stuck to one spot on my bed with my nose glued to my Kindle wanting to know how Parker and Liv's story was going to end.

Four years ago Liv and Parker had a falling out and they haven't spoken, now they are back in each others lives and Liv's main priority is to make sure Parker doesn't break her again. As the story progresses we see from both Parker and Liv what happened four years ago and how something so beautiful between these two went so wrong. These two were meant for one another and now they are so far from being together it's not funny. Everyone around them can see they belong to each other, but circumstances are keeping them apart, as well as broken heart, and stubbornness.

I loved how strong Liv is in this book. She isn't a push over, and she tries so hard to get over the pain and heartbreak from her past. She is a firecracker and she tries to make the best of the situations she's in, even though it's extremely hard. Watching her befriend Staci and Brandon was awesome, and seeing her try as hard as she did to put the past behind them and work on being civil with Parker was a testament on how much she has grown.

Parker on the other hand is your typical man. He knows what he wants, yet he's scared. He made some mistakes, and instead of owning up to them, or talking things out, he's doing the "safe" thing. He let's people assume things, and doesn't correct them, and in the end things get worse before they get better. No matter what he does though, he can't get over Liv and that ends up being a problem for him. Watching him fight his attraction and his love for her is heart-breaking at times and my heart hurt for him, but it really was his own fault, so I didn't feel that bad for him most of the time.

These two really went back and forth and circled each other most of this book, so if you love angst and drama, this book is totally for you. I wanted them together, yet at the same time I didn't because I was scared of what was going to happen if they finally gave in. Parker and Liv are a force to be reckoned with and I feel bad for anyone and everyone who tries to stand between them, even when they aren't together. They are on fire together and even when they "hate" each other the chemistry between these two is undeniable.

I fell in love with the writing in this book and with the characters. Not only did I love Parker and Liv, but Staci, Brandon and even Mason (though we didn't get to see much of him). This book was beautifully written and had a story that sucked me in from beginning to end. Where Good Girls Go To Die was an unexpected read that I one-clicked on a whim, and am so happy I decided to read! If you're in the mood for an angsty second chance romance with a few twists, I highly recommend this book! It is definitely one of my top reads of 2017!

5.0 su 5 stelle Where good girls go to read something sexy 21 aprile 2017

When I started reading Where Good Girls Go To Die I didn't know what to expect. After 10 minutes I thought "oh,my god I love this book!" I immediately fell in love with Liv. She's sweet, sexy and broken. Her story was heartbreaking. Parker on the other hand is hot and conflicted with his feelings for Liv even though...
Liv and Parker have been through so much together. I loved to read about their time when they were still young and in love. Now it looks a little bit different. Both are adults now and both are broken of how everything went when they were younger.
Reading about their life then and now made me fall in love with them.

Even though I wasn't expecting the story be like this I was definitely surprised by how much I liked it.

5.0 su 5 stelle I really really really loved Where Good Girls Go to Die 28 aprile 2017

I really really really loved Where Good Girls Go to Die. It’s a sister and brother’s best friend story. A dual point of view novel that flips between the past and the present.

Parker and Liv were perfect together- both past and present. I really felt their connection and neither are whole without the other. Their story wasn’t a perfect one though. I really wanted them to come clean to Liv’s brother, Mason, about their relationship. I think that would have saved a whole lot of heartache, but circumstances and lies broke them apart anyway and sent them down separate dark paths.

Four years later, Parker has moved on (as best as he can) and is about to get married. On the night of his bachelor party, he is entranced by the half naked woman dancing on stage. Little does he know it’s the woman he has tried to forget.

I won’t go into any more detail, but their reunion is fraught with heartache and regret. The secondary characters were a great addition. Staci was hilarious and made the perfect sidekick to Liv. I loved her addiction to romance novels and how she saw them as manuals to Parker and Liv’s reunion. Brandon was the typical best friend that every guy seems to have. They added a much needed comedic relief.

The only reason I’m subtracting half a star is because I wanted more background on how Liv ended up on stage at a gentlemen’s club and how Parker ended up with Emily years (?) ago.

Overall, I thought this story had just the right amount angst and some beautiful moments between a couple who were born to be together.

I give this book four and a half stars!

4.0 su 5 stelle Slow building romance with just enough angst and a whole lot of sweet 19 aprile 2017

I enjoyed this book so much. Though it was a rather quick read, the author's pacing was perfect. She kept you hooked and so in tuned with everything going on, never once finding yourself bored with the story line. I loved the chemistry between Livy and Parker I thought it was built so nicely making readers like me root for their much deserved happily ever after.

If you're in the mood for a slow building romance with just enough angst and a whole lot of sweet then Where Good Girls Go to Die is just the book for you.
4.0 su 5 stelle Now That I Know Where Good Girls Go To Die ~ I'd Go In A Heartbeat ~ I'd Go To The Place Where Good Girls Go To Die 8 luglio 2017

Some people purchase books based on recommendations from friends. Some purchase books based on the synopsis and some based on cover art. Me, well I bought Where Good Girls Go To Die based on the title. There was something about it that grabbed my attention. I read it and saw visions of cruelty, devious characters and brutality.

You know that saying never judge a book by it’s cover? Well let me tell you, never judge a book by its name. Where Good Girls Go To Die was not what I expected. It was a story that I fell in love with. That title though … those words “Where Good Girls Go To Die” they continue to haunt me.

Where Good Girls Go To Die is a story of one brother, one sister and her brother’s best friend. A story that exposes the characters deepest emotions, brutal truths, misconceptions of the past and desperation and confusion of the future.

The story is filled with a wonderful cast of characters. Each character has that one trait that distinguishes them. It defines not only their personality and physical appearance it also adds luster and vitality to the storyline. Some you fall in love with, some make you laugh and some make you cringe with disgust. All characters are well-rounded, interesting and play a vital role in completing the storyline. That said, the story really centers around the two main characters, Livy and Parker. It was impossible not to become immersed in their lives. To feel their every emotion, thought and desire. To hope for, root for and pray for the ending I so desperately wanted to happen.

“And until you feel it, the loss of air, the panic crawling through your skin, the desperation to inhale just one more time, you could never understand what it was like.”

~ Livy ~

Running … from her family, her past and her mind. Desperate to know the why, to escape the memories that flood her every waking minute, Livy sells her soul one song at a time. Each night she prays the music will drown out the heartache of the past, and prays the strangers will provide her the strength to forget, even for a moment … just how broken she really is.

“Spiraling out of control. I never wanted to stop, because for the first time in a very long time, I felt like I wasn’t broken anymore. The madness inside me settled, and I knew, that no matter what happened from this moment forward, I would never recover from Parker James.”

~ Parker ~

Safety. It’s mean to be. Shamed by guilt Parker believes this is his fate. He did the right thing, he knows it in his heart. Does Parker have the ability to pave the road of fate, of what was meant to be, or does he just believe deep down inside that he could never measure up to what he feels she deserves. Is it destiny or is it all just a lie? Sometimes the realization of what we think is best and truth are two totally different things. Sometimes letting go hurts more than holding on ~ and sometimes we realize that living with the consequences of our decisions, is not living at all.

“she finally released a deep, shuddering breath, and it was as if I could feel it filling my own lungs. It was the deepest breath I had taken since she stole it so many years ago.”

The story Livy and Parker is a beautiful story of two people discovering themselves and the love they share. It’s a story of truths, lies, deception, pain, heartbreak and the memories that cloud your every thought. It’s a story of family, hope and desperation. It’s confusion, desire, frustration, lust, love, pain and joy. It is a story that grabbed my attention from word one and kept a tight hold until the story came to a close. I really enjoyed the story of Livy and Parker. It was a fast paced, interesting and creative way of joining family, friends and lovers.

Where Good Girls Go To Die ~ those words make sense to me know. At first they intrigued, then I read and they gutted me to my very core. Here’s the thing … knowing what those six words mean …. I’d go … I’d go a thousand times over after I discovered where it was that good girls go to die
